The journey starts at the open station of Derby
It follows the line of the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the South Staffordshire Railway (includes the Darlaston Loop Line)
It then follows the line of the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway
It then follows the line of the Cherwell Valley line
It then follows the line of the Didcot, Newbury and Southampton Railway
The journey ends at the open station of Swaythling
