Elland (1st Station - 1840-1865)
Not so , as the Manchester and Leeds railway opened the 1st station at Elland on 5th October 1840. That company later formed part of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, which then relocated the 1st station 185 metres to the east to the 2nd station site on 1st August 1865.

I cannot make a posting of correction, as I made the previous posting.

Occasions such as this are helped by a reference to Rule 15 in the Rules Section on the very first posting on this quiz.

I am not sure when that junction was opened and which company was operational when it opened. These days, it is used by units from Newton Heath depot to access areas without the need to pass through Manchester Vicroria. The line option on this quiz is to normally pass through the Manchester and Leeds Railway platforms at Miles Platting station, go down the Collyhurst Incline, reverse at the open station of Manchester Victoria, there to reverse and pass through the Ashton, Stalybridge and Liverpool Junction connectional line at Collyhurst Junction and the first closed station to be met on that line would be....
