Dumfries had three stations at various times. The first was a terminus built in 1848 prior to the extension northwards to Glasgow. The second was close to it but on the new through line, just north of the overbridge carrying the Annan Road. It appears on the OS 25in:1mile map surveyed in 1855. It was about 300 metres south of the third station, still open, which first appears on a map of 1893.

So I think Dumfries (2nd station) is worth considering for inclusion.

Obviously, the first mentioned being a goods terminal station in 1848 can safely be ignored, but the second-mentioned station above (said to be close to it near the locomotive shed) was said to be just a goods and infrastructure storage facility in preparation for the eventual full opening of the station on a very nearby site on the line of the Glasgow, Dumfries and Carlisle Railway. I have had confirmation of this from an 82 year old rail historian in Edinburgh, who is of the considered opinion that there was only one official Dumfries passenger station that opened in 1859 on that railway line, when following the rules of this quiz, which he has been aware of since 2013.
