To get here we must have passed through the site of the Grand Junction Railway's original Chester station (1840 - 1848) but I have no idea where it was.

I think you will find that Saltney Ferry was west of the junction between the Chester and Holyhead and Chester and Shrewsbury railways.

My apologies, it is when coming off the Mold Railway onto the Chester and Holyhead Railway, that we meet Saltney Ferry.
