Abergavenny Junction(1st station - 1861 to 1870)
Withdrawn - I can't find evidence as to exactly where the first station was, relative to the then south-facing junction between the MT&A and NA&H. It is said to have been 500 metres south of the second site, but this puts it in the middle of the later triangular junction and presumably north of the original connection. It was a very odd arrangement if so!
Little Mill Junction
OBSERVATION
There surely would have been no need to access any of the Abergavenny Junction stations, as from Abergavenny Brecon Road, there was a chord that enabled traffic to access the now open station once known as Abergavenny Monmouth Road, which would then have taken us from there to the closed station of Llanvair.
When the MT&A arrived in Abergavenny in 1861 it connected to the NA&H via the south facing chord you refer to and built a station at the junction.
Note for next time we pass this way - the current station of Pontypool and New Inn appears to have had two sites. The first station (1854 to 1909) was situated just south of the bridge carrying the street called "The Highway", about 350m from the current site.
