We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 542 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Huyton Quarry
It follows the line of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Leeds Railway
It then follows the line of the Ashton, Stalybridge and Liverpool Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Micklehurst Loop Line
It then follows the line of the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway
It then follows the line of the LNWR Huddersfield to Leeds Line
It then follows the line of the North Midland Railway
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Leeds Railway
It then follows the line of the LYR Sowerby Bridge to Halifax Line
It then follows the line of the Halifax and Ovenden Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the GNR Queensbury to Keighley Line
It then follows the line of the Leeds and Bradford Extension Railway
It then follows the line of the Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington and Colne Extension Railway...via the Padiham loop line
It then follows the line of the Blackburn and Preston Railway...link line only, no closed stations
It then follows the line of the Lancashire Union Railway...via the Whelley loop line
It then follows the line of the St Helens and Runcorn Gap Railway...via Runcorn Gap (2nd station)
It then follows the line of the Garston and Warrington Railway
It then follows the line of the Warrington and Altrincham Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Stockport. Timperley and Altrincham Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Stockport and Woodley Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Hope Valley Line...link line only, no closed stations
It then follows the line of the Hayfield Branch Line
The journey ends at the closed station of Hayfield

The first closed station on this journey is Huyton Quarry

Lamb's Cottage

(Flow Moss Cottage was between Glazebury and Astley, although it doesn't seem entirely clear that Flow Moss station wasn't just an earlier name for Astley)

Both the last two stations, Newton Heath and Middleton Junction that have been named are on the Manchester and Leeds Railway, but the preamble mentions the Ashton, Stalybridge and Liverpool Junction Railway, as the line following on from the Manchester and Leeds Railway, so the junction line at Miles Platting leads to the closed station of.....
