North Wylam surely? West Wylam was a junction rather than a station? Or am I being a dense southerner?
This matter cropped up very many months ago on this quiz and I was reassurred by someone at the time in a PM that before North Wylam station was opened, there was a short lived station called West Wylam, near to the junction for the loop line. However, be assured that current investigations begin to cast doubt upon the veracity of this information that I accepted at the time in good faith.
UPDATE ON THE ABOVE
Full investigations revealed that whilst a temporary platform was constructed, made from railway sleepers and hardcore materials, this was to aid the unloading of wagons that were bringing materials for bridgeworks and junction re-construction.
