Yes, I meant that its there in case the 93 fails, similar to how all of the 99 tests so far have had either a 66 or 69 tucked in behind.

Hence my question as to whwther a 93 can work in multiple with a 66. A 99 can so of the 99 fails then all beind well the 99 can still contine with the 66/69 powering.

99 is the same family as a 93.

As far as I've seen from the 93s and 99 at the Greatest Gathering and at the Polmadie Open day... I don't believe the 93s have AAR compatab.... at least not to the point of having a visible socket

Since it's had a clear run from Wigan, it's made up 27 minutes, and probably 30+ by Shap. To repeat myself, pretty astonishing.....

Edit2: at the risk of stating the bleedin' obvious, the 66 timing Tebay to Shap is 14 minutes......this thing did it in 6 minutes towing the GM junk as well!

The 93 beat the previous night’s 4S47 for Grayrigg to Shap timings, which had a pair of 90s at the helm as opposed to the single 93 and also did not have to drag a 66 along with the train, which the 93 had to do!

Even on a class 66 timed load at 1600 tonnes, it managed Beattock Summit with ease. The weather in the Beattock area is rather wet shall we say as well.

20 minutes to climb Beattock (timing is 31) , in horrible conditions. Ended at Mossend PD Sterling , -49 minutes early.
