Class 91 naming - York 06/06

Are a pair of class 91's visiting York today for a naming ceremony? I understand it is the BBMF and the remembrance livered locos involved. I assume it is a D-Day commemoration activity judging by the date.

According to chat on York railcam, and I quote "DD anniversary and unveiling a bench and memorial with all the York mens names who participated in D Day"

91110 and 91111. They’re coupled blunt end to blunt end, 91110 on the south end ‘wrong’ way round. It’s a rededication rather than a naming as both are already named.

Rededication by the Archbishop of York and railway Chaplin.
Bench also unveiled by Ken Cooke the last remaining York Normandy Veteran, the bench has a plaque from a bench from Normandy.
The bench will be located on the concourse near platform 1/3

There's some irony that these WWII commemorations always seem to take place in platform 1 given it was the part worst hit by bombing in 1942.

According to my Railway Track Diagram -Eastern book there is a turntable at Neville Hill. I assume it has been regularly used to turn HST power cars.

There is a turntable at Neville Hill still operational.
