Are a pair of class 91's visiting York today for a naming ceremony? I understand it is the BBMF and the remembrance livered locos involved. I assume it is a D-Day commemoration activity judging by the date.
Easiest platform to use to stable locos, wide open concourse to gather guests etcThere's some irony that these WWII commemorations always seem to take place in platform 1 given it was the part worst hit by bombing in 1942.
According to my Railway Track Diagram -Eastern book there is a turntable at Neville Hill. I assume it has been regularly used to turn HST power cars. How was one of the locomotives turned? Is there a turntable at Neville Hill?
