Portuguese registered 'Christina', which has cranes, due Sagunto early morning on 25th. March.

Dutch registered 'Atlantic', with cranes, now docked at Sagunto.
I believe it is berthed in a position suitable for loading the locos.
Incidentally this is the vessel that delivered 68006/7 & 8 to Gladstone Dock, Liverpool and 68020,1 & 2 to Workington.

The timing coincides with high tide - ships can only berth at Workington a couple of hours either side of high tide, at other times the dock gates are closed to maintain water levels.

I note that late evening yesterday marinetraffic.com changed the scheduled ETA Workington from 13.00 hrs. to 19.00 hrs. on 29th. March.

I assume unloading and railing would be easier in daylight and the ship has to stay at the berth for about 8 hours between closing and reopening the gates anyway.

That tweet was 2 days too late when it was posted last Thursday, The 88 had been doing OLE tests since the Tuesday afternoon.

Didn't see any mention of it here though, so I thought I'd toss my hat into the ring. However, WNXX has said that mainline testing is due to begin this week.

The same paths are in every day as STPs for the remainder of the working week - whether they use all of them is a different matter of course.

Per RTT, 88002's test run to Crewe and back today has got as far as Preston and been cancelled (due to "unknown cause"). Was this (semi-)planned after 4 days of successful runs, or has it encountered an issue of some sort?

Making the depot look rather modern now. Not much that's not new at the South end.

This was always in the plan, from the driver's mouth on Thursday night the run would terminate at Preston. Return to Carlisle later but timing not known at the time.
Next week it starts loaded test runs with 1500 ton train of loaded ballast wagons, one loco, to Crewe and return only, initially.

Where is the 68 located in the consist? Behind the 88 to continue the run if it's taken off, or on the rear to pull it back?

There was an extra path available if they'd wanted/needed to take the 88 off at Crewe and run it back light engine (and the 68 return the ballast wagons), but this was cancelled as not required.

hi guys

anybody know what time it is expected to pass through preston on the return journey? - might nip out of work!

Can't work out from the link in an earlier post in this thread as WTT says 12.45 but RTT states 12.05 3/4
Pardon my ignorance guys but all this is new to me.
Anybody who can explain the difference would help greatly.

The links to RTT in the earlier post are only for the Monday trips - you need to look on RTT for the equivalent trips on the other days this week.
