Very nice, noticed an 810 (think it was 022) failed on testing the other night, and the day it came back a class 66 from GBRf ran back out of Merchant Park, you wouldn’t happen to know whether the 66 had to rescue the 810 would you, or has he 66 been there for a bit?observations this evening at Merchant Park.
810017 liveried undergoing static testing.
810021 liveried undergoing static testing.
810022 having work done on doors and interiors (outside in yard) and has been for nearly 2 weeks, has too large extractors attached too it, see pictures attached.
810023 static testing in yard not yet liveried.
Highly doubt would be 022 as that's been undergoing work on the unit outside on the yard for nearly 2 weeks.Very nice, noticed an 810 (think it was 022) failed on testing the other night, and the day it came back a class 66 from GBRf ran back out of Merchant Park, you wouldn’t happen to know whether the 66 had to rescue the 810 would you, or has he 66 been there for a bit?
Had a look, definitely was 022, this was the service it failed on: https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train/?c=K66627&d=2026-06-04 and the shed was allocated as 66693, which has been recently allocated onto the working in/out if Tyne Coal Terminal in Wednesday, so would be in the area overnight. This was the flow it was allocated onto when leaving Merchant Park, but cannot find a flow into Merchant Park for it: https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train.php/?c=80422&d=2026-06-04Highly doubt would be 022 as that's been undergoing work on the unit outside on the yard for nearly 2 weeks.
Not seen a 66 at Merchant Park for many months.
Possibly it was there to move a unit on delivery which was cancelled?
That's really strange for 022, as for the last 2 weeks it has been undergoing work outside in the yard at Merchant Park, with scaffolding structures placed adjacent to it, and over the 2 weeks the unit moves slightly to reposition doors next to scaffolding as per pictures attached.Had a look, definitely was 022, this was the service it failed on: https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train/?c=K66627&d=2026-06-04 and the shed was allocated as 66693, which has been recently allocated onto the working in/out if Tyne Coal Terminal in Wednesday, so would be in the area overnight. Could well have been 020 then, and the Allox are wrong and were just copied off the initial service, principal still the same though, an 810 failed and a shed magically spawned into Merchant that same dayThat's really strange for 022, as for the last 2 weeks it has been undergoing work outside in the yard at Merchant Park, with scaffolding structures placed adjacent to it, and over the 2 weeks the unit moves slightly to reposition doors next to scaffolding as per pictures attached.
I'd hazard a guess at 020, as that should have been delivered to Derby last Tuesday.Could well have been 020 then, and the Allox are wrong and were just copied off the initial service, principal still the same though, an 810 failed and a shed magically spawned into Merchant that same day
Well hopefully it means that issues that would’ve just turned up on the mainline can be caught and rectified before they get put out (probably will still happen under EMR though…)I'd hazard a guess at 020, as that should have been delivered to Derby last Tuesday.
And yes. Still isn't good when a unit newly built fails.
810011, 013, 015 and 019 all in service today from a very quick check on RTT.No 810s in service today
Edit: Rail record seems to have a issue...
Yes I think RR is undergoing maintenance of some sort I think, this note is in the members areaNo 810s in service today

I would be surprised if 810020 or 810022 have carried out sufficient 'test' miles which will be the reason for the non delivery of the units so far.I'd hazard a guess at 020, as that should have been delivered to Derby last Tuesday.

We do not know if it was 022 that failed, as I wrote above it's been having work done on its doors for nearly 2 weeks with scaffolding up against it and extractor fans placed into the doorsI would be surprised if 810020 or 810022 have carried out sufficient 'test' miles which will be the reason for the non delivery of the units so far.
Will the test miles on 810022 be reset to zero after its failure on Friday?
Most Cab Safety Systems and Interlocks (Door, Brakes, Traction)810011 on 1F47 (1430 St Pancras - Sheffield) seems to have expired at Cricklewood ('problem with the train') - causing some congestion because only the slow lines are open. After about half an hour it ran forward to Kettering as 5F47, the empty stock classification suggesting its passengers were left at Cricklewood.
I wonder what fault would allow it to run as empty stock but not carrying passengers.
Or simply a train fault (like engine) that can be fixed (so it can move the the nearest depot) on-site but is deemed unfit to carry passengersMost Cab Safety Systems and Interlocks (Door, Brakes, Traction)
Wonder how the passengers got on? I guess a Thameslink to St Pancras and roll the dice again ? At least the next Sheffield train is a 10 coach Meridian (222013+222016)810011 on 1F47 (1430 St Pancras - Sheffield) seems to have expired at Cricklewood ('problem with the train') - causing some congestion because only the slow lines are open. Yeah or a 360 to Kettering and a intercity service onwardsWonder how the passengers got on? I guess a Thameslink to St Pancras and roll the dice again ? At least the next Sheffield train is a 10 coach Meridian (222013+222016)
The 360s don't stop at Cricklewood. My first hand experience of problems on EMR Inter City is that Special Stop Orders are not issued; on an occasion when one would certainly have been useful the form I saw being filled in turned out to be a Special Non Stop order.Yeah or a 360 to Kettering and a intercity service onwards
Oh that’s odd, I thought they would’ve stopped there, oh well. The 360s don't stop at Cricklewood. The following Nottingham service had a special stop order at Cricklewood to pick up the passengersWonder how the passengers got on? I guess a Thameslink to St Pancras and roll the dice again ? At least the next Sheffield train is a 10 coach Meridian (222013+222016)
The Corby services get curtailed at Wellingborough when the Intercities divert via CorbyWhich was probably packed on departure from STP but the Cricklewood passengers were more than happy just to get away again. Well done EMR for this when it would have been easier to advise people to get alternative services north.. Were the Corby electrics even out today what with EMR Inter City trains going via Manton?

If it was 022 then they are having to do a bit of work each evening and morning to remove the equipment .
Thank you for confirming.it was 020 that failed
