Swear I just saw 026 on the rear of the 16:07 Waterloo - Waterloo service (Diagram 6)

Got my numbers mixed up. I can confirm I did indeed mean diagram 6
(2S44 14:33 Weybridge Waterloo)

That be OK, D5 is 023 & 025 so happy days for me. Now to work out a suitable interception point.

I see the issue with "West of England" not showing on the PIS for the various routes status has been fixed as well as the rogue font for another service group.

Although it should probably highlight issues with TfL services rather than having "minor delays" & "part closed" in the same font so the message can be overlooked

09:44 Waterloo - Windsor service appeared to be 707011+ friend this morning (had it been running due to an incident at a level crossing it was cancelled)

I don't think that they do. Unless they've been hidden inside the roof (which seems unlikely) - they aren't visible. Especially when you compare them to the likes of the 22xs, which have great exposed ones just sitting on the roof

There is stuff in the roof as unlike the 444/450 there are no cupbooards to look in in the train.Wider corridors.

I did Clapham Junction to Windsor & Eton Riverside and return off-peak in 707s yesterday.
All they say about them is true - restricted legroom, hard seats, no backseat tables and those over-loud automatic announcements with unnatural pauses and strange disturbing lifts and inflexions to the words. Then of course the guard repeats some or all of the automatic announcement.
Not a comfortable 50-minute ride. For brand-new stock, it seems very poor.
Oh, yes, and gate wide open with no ticket check at Windsor as usual (coming and going).

Hang in there. They are going soon.:s

The 14:52 Woking - Waterloo (via Hounslow) was a 707 earlier today (didn't see which one).

Another 707 today - 005 on its own, doing the Woking via Staines run. It definitely did 1S35 and 1S46, and should form 1S51 back out of Waterloo shortly.

07.02 Weybridge to Waterloo via Brentford is 10x 707 this morning. Nice trains but quite the downgrade for me as I used to sit in the declassified first class section of the 458's. Really missing a drop down table!

07:22 Waterloo Weybridge has now gone over from 5/458 to 4/450. Whilst nice to have the declass first class, that working is known to be cosy even as a 5car

How many diagrams are in service today? Just from passing thru Waterloo this morning, it seemed like a lot more than last week. I know that's not a very scientific observation though!

That's only temporary. Long term that is planned to be 5-car 707.

07:42 RDG-WAT 10/458
09:33 WYB WAT 10/458
09:52 WAT WYB 10/458
10:33 WYB WAT 8/450
11:03 WYB WAT 10/707
10:22 WAT WYB 10/707

And now Waterloo has fallen to bits

Just seen a pair of 707s on 2O25 (11:03 Waterloo to Waterloo via Richmond & Kingston). Haven't seen that one before.

There’s a small fire at west crossings meaning all the stock will probably get jumbled about for the rest of the day. I wouldn’t advise going out 707 hunting today.

Weybridge route is collateral damage. It's game over here.

Presumably not a through service to Weybridge after next December? If it terminates Hounslow it might not be so full?
By long term I am talking about until December 2018. The diagrams as of today are based on the full fleet on 30 707s being available for service, which isn't the case yet, so a number of services will be short formed for the next few months.

Understood. Should settle down a bit by the May change date.

By the way, had a quick scan down RTT this morning, have the class 9 trains now reverted to the normal class 2?

The 07.22 was always a severe crush as a 4-450, from Clapham, and with new business's around the Hounslow loop employing more people, it was only getting worse. Unfortunately that one train was the only service within that diagram that was a problem in that context. If the plan is still on course as originally, it should (eventually) form an attachment for part of the 1545 Waterloo, later in the day. It starts from Straw Hill (where crew training on both 458 and 707 was further down the pecking order compared to Wimbledon, Waterloo, so it's conversion to 5 car was perhaps later than ideal, but unavoidable.
Provisional plans were worked up beyond 2017 whereby the 07.22 would become 8-450, but events (refranchising and a proposed new timetable) have overtaken all that now. The SWR plan to simplify the entire suburban fleet is, planning wise, far better (I don't want to touch on other issues which I am not in a position to talk of).

Yes, they have. No need to make 10-car trains stand out any more as all platforms at Waterloo can handle them.

001+002 are out and about on a 5Q today, minus their AC eqpt, so I guess they'll be back in use soon. Just saw them on 5Q37, diverted via WYB, presumably due to congestion caused by the fire earlier.

Is that the only 707 diagram on the Kingston loop or is there one other? Would really like to try out a 707 tomorrow and see how they compare with the Thameslink 700's.

There is another one, but I don't know whether it is running yet or not.

2S69 left WAT 14 late this eve, now 25 late. And it's 458 not 707. Also left from p22 as well, strange because I went into 20 only a few days ago and they still all had their stop boards down as far as I could see. Have they finished the work now then?

As far as I'm aware the only platforms out of commission since the works are 23&24 but it's rare to see 21&22 in use as that requires extra staff.
