Sort of has the look of an air conditioned souped up PEP EMU. Are the doors narrower than the 700s? They look it.

They should be identical (700s and 707s). The doorways (on 707s) are considerably wider than on 455/456s.

Ahh I roughly knew this one but am still learning these units anyway so any info is useful.

As I slid into West Byfleet the other week in the rain I did notice that the units were working fine.

Thankfully 707s don’t operate near salt water though. rules them out for Island Line though!!

I did Clapham Junction to Windsor & Eton Riverside and return off-peak in 707s yesterday.
All they say about them is true - restricted legroom, hard seats, no backseat tables and those over-loud automatic announcements with unnatural pauses and strange disturbing lifts and inflexions to the words. Then of course the guard repeats some or all of the automatic announcement.
Not a comfortable 50-minute ride. For brand-new stock, it seems very poor.
Oh, yes, and gate wide open with no ticket check at Windsor as usual (coming and going).

That's a fair point but there was definitely a whine from the roof during regen braking which sounds almightily similar to that on a 222.
