Class 67 New Livery

67018 is being released from the paint shops at Toton tomorrow with a new livery.

Will be running LD to the NRM at York for a naming ceremony at the NRM on Friday.

One thing that has always surprised me is although the DBS 90s used on the sleepers between Scotland and London are in FSR livery, the 67s used for the Highland portions aren't in FSR livery even though they're part of a specific pool for that traffic and have different brake pads compared to other 67s.

The FSR livery looks quite smart on the 90s and would also look good on these 67s, I mean the 90s have been done so why not the 67s?

Well, in a way id say just a general First livery - say in the same blue as FGW, thus just as Wrexham and Shropshire have, you could have a dedicated pool of locos alicated to working for first group - FSR & FGW...

Say 7 of the dedicated 67s were painted up in blue, 2 could be used by fgw and 5 for scotland, whilst ocasionaly being swapped around for maintenance etc...

I would go down there and have a look but I would have to take my partners camera which takes an age between taking pictures, so I would be looking at getting one shot in late evening darkness on a poorly lit station with the train passing at speed! If I had my camera I would go down there. If its in First ScotRail livery for the Caledonian Sleeper I will not be amused at missing it, if it is please spill the beans!

Would have thought that if they were to be repainted for the sleeper, they'd be done in the "Transport Scotland" livery.

Which wouldn't be suitable for the sleepers given that the Caledonian Sleeper starts in London. It would be far better, in my opinion, if the 67s and 90s used on the Caledonian Sleeper were painted in a dedicated livery similar to that used on the coaching stock, with "Caledonian Sleeper" emblazoned on the side.

Saturday, 16th January

York 9:41am; Thirsk 9:56am; Darlington 10:09am; Durham 10:23am; Newcastle
Central 10:39am; Edinburgh Waverley 12:58pm.

Sunday, 17th January

Edinburgh Waverley 1:04pm; Newcastle Central 2:41pm; York 3:57pm - 4:09pm;
Doncaster 4:45pm - 4:57pm; London Kings Cross 6:48pm.
