Best bet is Severn Valley Railway.
I think you're thinking of the prototype 'Deltic'.Isn't the pioneer one that used to be in the Science museum now at Shildon?
There's a tantalising photo on the DTGs site showing what D1015 will be looking like when it returns...

Blue with small yellow warning panels, sorry about the quality - it's a screenshot (not my photo).
Not just you Mr Bridge. Needs to be a bit dirtier though...is it me or with a bit of imagination could that almost pass for Cardiff Canton, Plymouth Laira, Newton Abbot or similar depots back in the 60s?
Thanks Blackwatch, I'd forgotten about that.D1010 suffered a transmission failure last year and is now out of service.
Now if only everyone who 'needed' it made a donation...D1048: Butterly - Very long term overhaul. Must be so many people that need this machine now!
Cue endless wibble about 'chromatic' blue all over again! There's a tantalising photo on the DTGs site showing what D1015 will be looking like when it returns...

It's not Chromatic Blue. If you were here I reckon I could prove it...Cue endless wibble about 'chromatic' blue all over again!
I think chromatic blue has only ever existed in the minds of those who don't take into account the fallibility of colour film. It's become one of those railway myths that never completely goes away. Hence my use of 'wibble'It's not Chromatic Blue. If you were here I reckon I could prove it...![]()
There's an interesting test that can be done...I think chromatic blue has only ever existed in the minds of those who don't take into account the fallibility of colour film. It's become one of those railway myths that never completely goes away. Hence my use of 'wibble'![]()

Like you say - the colour film of the time can show up a different shade of blue from the actual reality. But if you visually cover (a photo or model of) the front end of a loco with small yellow panels with your hand or something similar. and just look at the bodyside. Then it seems to always look like just the standard BR blue.
