Any chance you could supply a link that has the data? The link you've provided comes back with "Non-passenger trains are not shown in GBTT mode. Click the GBTT button at the top of this page to switch to WTT mode to see details of this train"

Details of train schedule if you click on spanner symbol to the left of the word
'TRAINS' at the top of the page

Apologies. When I tested the link the site opened into advanced mode, perhaps because I'd just been using it. Will remember for next time...

It got out of the yard and was moving quite happily, until one of the cars in the unit threw in the towel, and it is was promptly shunted back.

I wonder if they've thought of delivering it as a four car at a 20% discount? Perhaps not the best idea for PR purposes though... :D

There's that sense of deja vue going back to when the 458s were first delivered.

I wonder if there are people at SWT etc now wishing that that they had got extra Class 450 carriages instead, that being the other option for the 10 car scheme.

Wouldn't that be the logical conclusion?

Extra 450 vehicles was always SWT's preferred option, but the powers at pretty much told the TOC it wasn't going to happen and some of the units already under construction were shared between SWT and LM as 4 car units.

I think you are describing something that happened ages ago, during the SRA's period in charge of rolling stock policy. Sharing the then under construction 5 car units as 450s and 350/1s for SWT and LM is very much 'water under the bridge' compared to the current HLOS strengthening project.

Delivery path is in again for tonight...

RTT indicates it is running, and a bit early so far...

The 458/460 mix up is why keeping up with what's going on is for me at least ruddy difficult!

Not helped when you don't live anywhere near London and thus are not familar with either of the classes.

Could someone please give me a break down of where each carriage from the 460's is going.

Just making up some numbers to give you an example

460001 was made up of 12345, 12346, 12347, 12348
and 12345 and 12346 are now in 458501. etc etc

Don't get to spot in London very often but I did have half the 460's. I'll get the rest even if I have to see them one carriage at a time!

Thanks

So is there any word on whether last weekend's abortive trip down South for the first unit will be re-enacted soon? If not, I'm putting bets on the whole project being scrapped.

I posted this path news last night at 2055 but the forum software tacked it onto an earlier post, so it might not have been obvious...

Oops I never noticed, I was just replying to Goldfish62 and looked at Doncaster and it was the top line.

Here it is:

http://www.wlpa.x10.mx/tencarpicture.jpg

That doesn't list vehicle numbers, but I think it's the best idea of what's happening available so far...

That is it in a nutshell, please note that the motor coaches being inserted into the 458s will have the power equipment removed and become trailers, this will standardise the fleet and reduce maintenance costs/ increase the amount of spares.

The 458s are currently set at 49% power (except 8001 ;)) and so by increasing that a bit they will still be quick enough.

Formation reported to be 67914, 74414, 74444, 74454 and 67918.

I don't find many trains ugly (not even the 70s), but 458534 is hideous. Probably like the ugly duckling at Wimbledon Depot at the moment ;)
