I've been on the 1935 MF Waterloo to Reading a couple of times so far, this currently being the only Reading line service operated by a Class 458/5. On both occasions the PIS was not working and the external screen displayed "not in service".

I'm assuming from this that Reading line services are not programmed into the system. Is this true? Seems a bit of an oversight if so.

Yep. No PIS codes available for Reading services. The same for Shepperton services.

Any news on when the final unit will be delivered from Doncaster?

Also, have the remaining units being tested out of Wimbledon been brought into service?

Finally, any ideas when the Windsor services will go fully 459?

I noticed that the 08:41 service from Feltham to Waterloo via Hounslow was a 10 car 458/5 this morning. It has previously been an 8 car 450 since December and a 5 car 458/5 previously to that. I wonder is that a sign of increasing availability?

I had the privilege of travelling in a 10 car 458 set on Sunday for the first time ever. All the toilets were locked out of use. Is this a regular occurrence?

Not at all surprising considering that the clientele often use them for a smoking/drugs & sex den.

Last time I opened the door on a "Mobility Impaired" toilet, I found two boys having some let's say unorthodox entertainment that should be kept to the bedroom.

Yes, the 458/5 toilets are very frequently out of use. Even when they're in use they're normally in a right state.

Getting the passengers ready for the toiletless 707s ;)

Agreed with TEW, even when in use the toilets are in a state, you need a gas mask to use them

After the first batch of baby change tables were broken by their use as baby making tables, the new ones going in have apparently been tested to 80kg. That's some baby

Good to know SWT are an equal opportunities privacy provider... wonder what the famously liberal-minded Brian Souter would make of that!

Has anyone seen 458507 in service? It's supposedly been at Wimbledon for testing since 26/01/16.

Thanks.

Not for over a year yet. There are platform extensions and power upgrades to be done on the Reading line first. And the 707s need to be introduced to Windsor/Weybridge/Hounslow Loop services to free up the 458/5s.
