Hope SWT keep this as a free service as you guys + gals pay enough for your tickets already.
I didn't think the performance on South West Trains was as bad as other networks or is that on other networks the problems are TOC caused rather than Network Rail. I also wouldn't have thought performance was bad enough for Network Rail to fund this.Notwork Fail. Due to poor performance.
Performance which wouldn't be so bad, if signallers were allowed to regulate, run things around others etc. Mind you the train planning sections of TOCs are their own worst enemy.

Thinking about it their have been signalling failures and other issues but most of these from memory have been in the last quarter of the year, which is after the roll out of the WiFi on the 444s.Really? It's atrocious. Especially when you see the daily performance figures on a guards Blueberry.

Tried to use the WiFi on a 7.45 replacement service to Waterloo [signalling problems in Guildford area for a change]. However in the 15 minutes I was on the train to Woking, I couldn't connect.
I even go the following error:
![]()
I decided if there are regular problems connecting I should report it. So I went to Google and typed in wifi south West Trains contact as I know it's a dedicated team to contact which I think is the best way to deal with technical issues. I then clicked on the first link.
www.southwesttrains.co.uk/wifi.aspx
On my mobile I was then redirected to the following web page:
http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt/www.southwesttrains.co.uk/wifi.aspx
I don't have a tablet to try this out on but I wouldn't be surprised if the same problem occurred. I wonder how many people are connecting to the WiFi via a laptop vers a mobile/tablet? I can force it to bring up a desktop page in my Google Chrome browser but not everyone would know how to do that, assuming all mobile/tablet browser apps support such a feature. It's certain not a way of accessing promoted on the this page is not supported yet page. Perhaps they feel the work around would be to difficult to explain to their users.
All I was looking for was the following:
You might think they would want to make that information available to mobile users. Perhaps it's on another web page. However Google search brought up that page and a news page and neither were supported.
