Just before the end of the clip you can see the temporary gangway blank which allows a brake pipe to pass through the unit connecting the hoppers.
Saw a white,one sandwiched between two reds
does that pipe literally just pass through the whole unit.?

Easiest way to get a through pipe by laying it inside. Does mean the end gangway doors will not close, hence a blank with a cut out for the pipe.
I remember when the 450's came from Germany, the pipe was attached to the underframe and returned in the container on the match wagon.

I thought the pipe ends just laid inside the cab gangways and the whole unit was hermetically sealed and the air just filled the interior of the unit and then pressurised?

That's impossible. The air pressure would blow the doors open! The seals around the doors aren't air tight even when the doors are closed!

Just missed 1B73 from LBG by seconds (2 x 455 were stacked behind it, didn't get right up front in time) and I'm sure I saw 387 on it as it left? Was just a 4 car. I might be wrong.

That's impossible as all 387s have left. With the expection of 387124, all are at Hornsey.

They moved Wednesday night (all six did that night IIRC). They were leaving the depot as my train home passed. Only 387124 is around the BML at present.

Remember it is ONLY the 387/1s = 387101 - 387129 (i.e. White) that have all (except 387124 on loan to GatEx ?) moved to the other side (of the Thames). They were originally working with Thameslink temporarily until 700s displaced them. So these are now on services running out of Kings Cross and these will never see the core Thameslink route again.
The 387/2s = 387201 - 387227 (i.e. Red) are still South of the river on Gatwick Express duties and that is where they will stay (for the foreseeable future).
The newer 387/1s = 387130 - 387174 (174 iirc) (i.e. Green ?) are in service on Great Western, and were never used elsewhere, by the way. Well deliveries have so far got up to 387145 iirc
The 387/3s = 387301 - 387306 are in service with c2c, and were never used elsewhere, by the way. They are only on a short term hire until c2c acquires a lot more stock. So they will eventually move to elsewhere in approximately a few years time.

Several have been done over the last couple of weeks.
Time for BTP to conceal some officers by those sidings and wait...?

Would it not work out cheaper to increase security at the sidings than to keep paying for the vandalism?
