Fair enough, still if they are indeed coming to the Western I'll have plenty of chances to get them.

Didn't do a long enough journey to find the seats either comfortable or uncomfortable. Might have some different answers on that one should I make it onto the Thameslink Daysave bash I'm planning!

How many 319s on the bml now including three bridges terminators and London bridge terminators?

Will the Wimbledon loop/Sevenoaks remain largely 319s till the 700s?

Livery wise is a nightmare at the moment but I guess it is all temporary

Currently 377s not permitted on Loop, limited to for cars only on Sevenoaks route. Both well see 319s replaced directly by 319s. Current plan for the 700s is 11x 12 cars then a large batch of 8 cars which will see the units on Sutton and Sevenoaks I think within a year.

Ah, that would make sense. I guess it's not impossible that one would get sent round by accident either? The working in question was one purple one plus one green one.

Wonder why that happened? Think it was signal sighting on the Wimbledon side? I know many of the Southern services via the Mitcham Junction side use 377s, and if there were issues on that side then they wouldn't be used.
There could also be issues with platform length and SDO? I know Mitcham Junction and Hackbridge only fit 7 coaches of 377, while the 319/455 platform mounted DOO monitors are at the bottom of the end ramp. Same is the case with monitors at some stations around the Wimbledon side.

I can categorically state that on 24 March 2 ex-FCC branded 377s operated 1O10 0740 Sutton-Bedford via Wimbledon, because I was onboard. I don't know how regular this is or was - I was a bit surprised, but there we go.

EDIT: Aha, as per the post above - typed at the same time as mine!

They were going round there for about a week but were stopped again. Not sure why though. There was a notice which went up saying 377s were being used and the places sdo would operate but was superseded by a following notice to say they were now being withdrawn.

Spoke to an Thameslink driver the other day, think is something to do with the DOO cameras.

That fits, because we were on the 08.04 from Epsom which would have been at Wimbledon at around 08.20.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but the hand washing facilities are very poorly designed on these trains. It forces you to obtain soap before wetting your hands and once you have trend the tap on it refuses to let you have any more soap. This is against best practice. Also i hate being told by a machine what it is I want to do. Totally unnecessary.

That's good to know - is there any way of operating the soap without having your hands underneath it?

I'll remember to do that next time I need the toilet on a 387 then, probably not often as I tend to only use them in the TL core at the moment! That being said though, I do sometimes do 35 minute stints on 377/6s - would they be the same I'd assume?

387129 arrived at Bletchley for commissioning yesterday. Meanwhile note confirmed GWR's new build 387s will be numbered 387301-308.

That's the last 387/1 isn't it? So is it now straight onto the Gatwick 387/2s or is there a bit of a gap in construction?
