Six 377/2 will move to Southeastern from Thameslink soon as a result of the 387/1 arrival, and it would only be logical that the six are 208/209/210/213/214/215, given that 207/211/212 are on a long term loan... but this is the railway after all.

Why Southeastern and not back to Southern?

Why Southeastern and not back to Southern?

Because Southern replaced 6x four car 377/2 with 8x five car 377/7 giving them an increase in units and not requiring the units back.

Southeastern requires additional stock to cope with London Bridge blockage and its affects.

may have missed it, but what services are the 377/2s gonna be on? I assume their software will not be compatible with SEs 375s.

Why Southeastern and not back to Southern?

Some southeastern routes are seeing very large service and capacity peak time cuts from January. They lack trains with SDO on metro routes to deal with service cuts, so trains cannot be sufficiently extended to 12 cars to make up for a reduction of paths. I presume SDO capable 377/2s will alleviate this.

Well you know its at one end of the 4 car unit...

Same place as 377/5s and 319s (if applicable)

May I also point out that no FCC train on TLK had the yellow stripe. Just a simple "1st" bubble.. so Its no different really.

Exactly my point - why have none of the TL stock ever had the yellow stripe, I wonder? It wouldn't be quite so bad if it was at both ends (not that I'm suggesting that there is enough demand for that), but being at one end only means that it would be very useful to have early warning - that's what the yellow stripe concept from the 1960s onwards was all about. The 387s are the worst of all - a tiny sticker on a door which is really only useful from about ten feet away! Most (not all, unfortunately - SWT use blue dots for some reason) other TOCs use the stripe - so why must TL be so doggedly different? By contrast I noticed a superb example of the stripe application the other day at Stratford, with a newly-repainted Abellio Greater Anglia buffet first in a Norwich formation having a thick and bright red and yellow (half and half) stripe.

Even more annoying is relying on the CIS notification of the first class position and it being wrong.

I can't say for certain... preferably it would be better as all STD class accommodation. I don't think the stripe is a requirement.

Also i'd guess, as these trains shall move to a new TOC in a couple of years or so, they don't want to do much to the outside.

Oh no, how do you poor souls in First Class cope with having to spot your carriage. ;) (Sarcasm, don't worry)

Why is Thameslink seemingly so determined to make the first class section (which is at one end only) so incredibly hard to spot until its too late to get into the right position on the platform to board it? The 319s have no yellow cantrail stripe, neither do the 377/5s and now the 387s only have a tiny '1st' on the door itself!

319 with 1st: front and rear either direction
377: front and middle northbound, middle and rear southbound?

Not sure about the 387s :)

Will the 377/2's that are on loan that are in Southern livery with Thameslink branding be repainted in the TL livery, or is there not enough lease time to justify that?

Hardly any point even the 387s aren't in said livery

What even IS the thameslink livery, whilst on the subject? I've seen about 5 different ones floating about. Is the official one just white with pink doors?

Confuses me how some have pink doors and some blue, and the fact 387s which are completely new so couldve been painted, have green doors :|

White (I'd say it's off white personally) with cyan doors. Looks hideous and looks filthy a few minutes after leaving a washer.

Oh really? That doesnt look great to me either as it doesnt even go with the thameslink logo. What was the reason for some 319s having the white with pink doors?

Some of the 319s needed re-vinyling and they didn't have any of the First Capital Connect ones left / didn't want to reapply it I believe. The doors didn't need doing and are still in the FCC colours.

The 387s were ordered too long ago to be delivered in the latest Thamelink livery, the delivery being just about coincidental with the franchise change always meant it unlikely that the builder would have enough advance warning to redo them at the last minute.

There's also the significant problem that they are known to be going somewhere else in about two years time, but that could be any of about 3 possibilities. Any colour scheme done now will probably be wrong for their next move, so what would be the point?

Remember the light grey and blue colours were DfT specific, and the 319s are all off eventually anyway.

The 700s will also have that livery but with a bit extra apparently....

Isn't it only one unit in white vinyl and pink doors?

As someone living in the North, I shouldn't be asking this but if 110mph EMUs are required as part of the GWML electrification, should we not be continuing the build of 387s until there are enough units for this project if more than 29 sets are needed?

Basically Bombardier have said no more Electrostars, just Aventra now.

Are these likely to be made up of 105,106,107 & 108 or have any more made it into service yet?

Yes you're right. Class 377/5 got me excited as I had to go to Gatwick which would have coincided with their first Up working

Of course, they didn't show up....

I can understand it's disappointing travelling to see them and them not turning up, but to be fair to Class377/5 though, what he posted was what they were planned to work at the time he posted it. Their substitution for a 377 was fairly last minute.

Will this affect today's workings at all, or should they still go as planned?

Was planning to use one all the way down to Brighton today - if they aren't working, is there any idea as to what they'll be working on for Monday? If I'm on a train for the best part of 2 hours, I might as well make it a brand new one!

Can be made up of any units in service. So far 387105-110 are ready for service.

So where will 110mph emus end up when the 700s are delivered?

Ask the DfT for that one.

Lack of crystal ball means I can only advise what's planned.

1W25 10:36 Bedford to Brighton
1W28 13:44 Brighton to Bedford
1W49 16:36 Bedford to Brighton
