377704 worked the 2232 Epsom to Dorking (ex-Victoria) on Thursday 19 June. Noted that the so-called "first class" section is the small section between the internal doors and the car end, rather than the large section on the 377/6s.

Forgot to put last night, 377707 was brought down. Only 1 more to be delivered now.

With 4 in service next week (2 on WLL and 2 on Metro), it's all coming into place.

It seems that 377/7s are initially being used as 377/6 spares prior to settling on Croydon- Milton Keynes services. I expect they will transfer fully onto their intended route in time for the December timetable change, if not the September take-up of the Thameslink franchise (to release other stock there).

I suppose that makes sense as southern would prefer to have a 377/7 failing in Croydon (metres from Selhurst depot) than on the WCML causing havoc!

The 377/7s should start to move to WLL duties from next week. Remember there are only 4 Off Peak diagrams on the route, and one of those will be an 8-car 377/2. I'm not sure if any of the peak diagrams will be /7s but some 377/7s are always going to be on Metro workings alongside the /6s.

I've had the tantallising thought that when I go to Croydon next week and should ride a 377/6, I might just see a 377/7! I would be amazed to see one on a Saturday yet though.

377703 and 377704 were both in service today, on 377/6 diagrams.

Yes, they were - and I dropped on both while out to get some photos developed and printed*! Talk about luck... :D

*In Epsom I can only get glossy done; I prefer the higher quality of matt finish so have to go elsewhere...

Didn't manage to get either today despite knowing they were out unfortunately. Did manage to catch 377704 yesterday though.

In a twist to the swapping of the first class areas between 377/6 and 377/7, when I rode 377703 yesterday the antimacassars were on the seats in the section behind the driver and the window stickers denoted first class at the inner end of the same carriage. Hopefully someone will sort that out before they actually work a service with advertised first class.

377704 on Friday had the inner section of the carriage labelled up and the antimacassars in that section too. It is an odd place within the train to have First Class but it does mean the First Class section has a better ration of tables to airline seats than when it it's in the end section of the carriage.

Just to confirm, are the 377/7's only diagrammed on the WCML M-F?

Just to note the introduction of the 377/7 being done on ad hoc basis right now with no 'proper' diagrams until December. They are just being used on 377/2 diagrams.
