010 has been done as of 27/04/2026
That's correct. Each unit is in for 4 weeks, so two units in Grove Park at ay one time, but they are staggered. All furniture out, floor restoration done, at seat power done, necessary bits of fixing points painted etc., by which time the removables are back from Alstom's subcontractors duly refurbished and ready to be refitted. Seems to be working like a dream now and is well managed.Judging by the rate of updates, I'm guessing they are being completed at a rate of one a fortnight, so there's just over a year to go for them all to be done.
None of them have been painted - it's vinyl.Have all of the units been painted into the new SE Blue livery? Sorry if already mentioned further up the thread

It feels like a bare minimum refurb job, because Southeastern expect them to be replaced as well as the Networkers. That's what I hope anyway...I still can't get over the fact they are not installing the air conditioning. These are some of the hottest units on a hot days, worse than the Networkers, where window openings are larger and where there are more of them.
What a bloody joke of "refurbishment" it is...
With HMT involved l wouldn't hold my breath on that.It feels like a bare minimum refurb job, because Southeastern expect them to be replaced as well as the Networkers. That's what I hope anyway...
It does beg the question why has it taken this long for the 376s to get refurbished / refreshed in the first place. It feels like a bare minimum refurb job, because Southeastern expect them to be replaced as well as the Networkers. That's what I hope anyway...
On our latest Listen and Learn day some colleagues visited the class 376 refresh programme. 16/36 units now completed. Before anyone asks, the budget would need to have been four times bigger to retrofit air con. We take the opportunity to improve what we can, when we can
In what way did Connex South Eastern “Turbocharge” the Networker fleet? Do you mean they over intensively utilised them? If that was such, why didnt they order more Class 376s for SE Metro/Suburban lines. I never thought the Class 465s were suited to inner suburban operations.Networkers have been pretty much uncared for since only a few years into their working life, the problem then being turbocharged by Connex and it hasn't really recovered from that ever since, bar new seat covers years ago.
Unwanted child sums it up nicely!
In 2005, shortly after the 36-strong 376 fleet was introduced, 34 of the 465/2s were refurbished into the 465/9s and redeployed on outer suburban services. Keep in mind the Networkers were little more than a decade old when the 376s came in, so there's no way they'd have replaced the entire fleet (or even most of it).In what way did Connex South Eastern “Turbocharge” the Networker fleet? I seem to recall the Class 376 fleet was to take over Networker trains on inner suburban/metro services in South-East London. I seem to recall Hitatchi offered a early A-Train variant with sliding pocketed doors. It was a shame they did not win the contract. It is good that the Electrostar 376fleet is getting a refurbishment that is well overdue. The fleet did look dire and neglected. In 2005, shortly after the 36-strong 376 fleet was introduced, 34 of the 465/2s were refurbished into the 465/9s and redeployed on outer suburban services. Although by then of course Connex had been superseded by South Eastern Trains (itself succeeded by Govia Southeastern in '06).
No I don't mean that, i meant they let such newish trains they inherited become vandalised from wall to wall just as they did with all the other stock they had including the South Central side. I'd call that turbocharged compared with BR on an already troublesome area. Wasnt it the case they had to pay up at the end of their tenure to the ROSCO because of this and replace etched windows etc as it was so bad?In what way did Connex South Eastern “Turbocharge” the Networker fleet?
