First 345 ran on ATO between Westbourne Park and Abbey Wood earlier this week
Indeed excellent news, presumably with no issues? That's big news Goldfish62! I've been waiting to see news about signalling setup in the core being ready for test runs all the way through. Do you know which day it ran?
I think it was Monday night, but don't quote me on that. That's big news Goldfish62! I've been waiting to see news about signalling setup in the core being ready for test runs all the way through. Do you know which day it ran?
From what I understand from inside info is that the ATO aspect is fine, but still significant general software issues with the trains.Indeed excellent news, presumably with no issues?
Yes. Before tfl rail west launched they regularly ran on test to reading and were stored st maidenhead sidingsI'm not sure if I've missed this above but just seen a 345 in sidings just beyond Maidenhead. Have they ventured out this far before?
Seems like there were more 345 issues last night with reports of 3 in a row having to be taken out of service at Ilford due to CCTV issues?

I understand this was a station equipment issue rather than a problem with the trains themselves.
I have been on a 345 which suffered "problems with CCTV" at a station. Are there new rules stating that the driver cannot close the doors and depart if they cannot see all of the platform CCTV pictures?
Noted yesterday during PM peak just 6 Class 345s in service on the Shenfield route. There were 26 Class 315s (14 eight car sets) running to make up the peak requirement of 20 sets.
This seems like a low number of 345s in use, a year to the day since the first one entered service. Don't get me wrong: as a 315 fan, it's great to see them still dominant.
The June Modern Railways also explained that as of May TfL were only awaiting ORR to sign off paperwork for 9 car operations on the GW, the Hayes bay platform was completed by NR just in time, as previously discussed.Don't forget that some of the 7 car sets are now operating out of Paddington as well, that may explain the low availbility of 345s in the east.
Yes, number ten.Did anyone see the picture of the one that smashed through the buffers?

You wouldn’t think making a temporarily shortened train longer would be that taxing a problem for ORR, but that’ll be all that’s keeping those 7 cars in the West...
Think is pretty poor they don't have some kind of degraded dispatch procedure if the monitors don't work at one station.
Also someone's getting in trouble.

That must depend if they can operate the service in other platforms at Paddington. Is P14 expected to be extended? Not just Hayes, platform 14 at Paddington won't accommodate s 9-car 345.
