I prefer the 345s personally, the sliding doors of the 700 to me make it look old fashioned, like an updated 321 from the side :D

Agreed I often confuse 319s and 700s from a distance if all I can see is the side. I agree the side profile of the 345s is perhaps slightly better, but despite the indentations I still prefer the look of the 700 - quite right though, external appearance, especially for those using the route as a 'tube line', is of no importance. I'm curious to know what the corrected moquette will look like - expecting either the moquette shown in the CGI images a while back, or a purple variation of the blue 'tube lines' moquette.

Is there any news on when the first 345 will be moved to Ilford for mainline testing? Heard something about the first one arriving November time.

TfL gave the date of November for start of on-network testing in board papers back in July, I posted it at the time (in post #74). But I haven't seen any updates to that.

Can anyone point me to the diagrams for the Ilford to Witham test slot?

I can see the line from my office kitchen and want to make a cuppa at a good time to see what's on it.

Normally they are:

5F96 10.40 SX Ilford EMUD to Witham (11.26)
5V97 11.42 SX Witham to Ilford EMUD (12.31)
5F98 12.50 SX Ilford EMUD to Witham (13.48)
5V99 13.55 SX Witham to Ilford EMUD (14.41)

At the moment the morning trial trip runs via Liverpool St as the country end of Ilford Depot is closed for Crossrail work, but that reopens soon. The afternoon trip currently doesn't run unless by Control arrangements. You won't see a 345 out on those though.

In addition there is now a Shenfield trial trip for 315s, as GA drivers don't work these anymore other than shunting around Ilford Depot. That is subject to alteration too while engineering work in the Shenfield area means it can only get to Gidea Park.

Best to look at Real Time Trains for full details.

Thank you for all that. Now I won't have to look weird craning my neck at my desk.

A small glimpse of the sim that's being used.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-38234548

Drivers on the Elizabeth Line are using the latest technology to familiarise themselves with the train and the routes.
About 24 trains an hour will travel both ways on the new line which, will link 40 stations through London, connecting Reading in Berkshire and Shenfield in Essex.
The trains will come into operation on some parts of the route next year ahead of the official launch of the line in 2018.
The Elizabeth Line will be fully operational in 2019.

By the look of Realtimetrains the unit has made it as far as Wembley yard when I checked at 1050 this morning.

There are a few pictures on Twitter. It looks a bit odd without yellow ends but overall looks very nice.
