The lists above show that 345014 has made it out onto test workings following its extension to 9-car formation.

Also of note I think is that 345037 may have been back in service yesterday on the Heathrow services. Confirmation welcome.

as well as 345009 which is now in service following its conversion.

Finally, 345019 appears to have been in use on tunnel workings

Reports elsewhere that 345019 is in service on Heathrow workings today (10 March)

It looks like 345011 has completed its conversion to 9-car with the normal move out to the first signal outside the depot completed today. I think 345012 is next for conversion having not been 'seen' since the end of February and the remaining 7-cars 345015-17/38/42/56/64 all seen more recently.

It looks like 345013 and 345019 were both on tunnel workings today.

Reports elsewhere suggest that 345041 worked Hayes shuttles today, marking its first appearance in passenger service, leaving just 345018, 345067 and 345069 to carry passengers now.

019 037 and 041 all appear to be out West today on Heathrow services.

I need all three of those for haulage... is there a good chance they'll be out again tomorrow? I'm doing Cardiff, but I could of course return earlier than planned and bail out at Reading and do a triple hop between there and Paddington...

It doesn't necessarily follow that units out today will be out on passenger work tomorrow - they all finish at the depot tonight - I've never been able to discern any pattern about the number of days a unit will work concurrently.

That's the problem, because they don't appear on any of the usual sources either.

Hopefully someone will be able to post them tomorrow ( and I'll put a request on the TOPS thread in the morning ). Might even be able to eyeball some of what's out while on my way to Cardiff if I can get a seat on the right hand side of the IET...

Thanks

Unknown - just discussing, from previous evidence that 12 could be the next and the process maybe underway.
Previous patterns would appear to suggest that the move to signal berth 0142 does represent a final depot stage of the conversion process. As noted above, it looks like 345012 has made that move today so presumably will be out soon.

I think 345015 is next as the unit not 'seen' for the longest time. 345012 certainly appears to have followed 345011 though the process quicker than previous units, as there has only been one week between those two units appearing.

So, I have not kept track :frown:, what stage are the 345s at. Has anyone kept a tally.

Which ones are still 7-car ?.

I assume all 345s are delivered ?.

Which 345s have not turned a wheel much yet ?.

Which 345s are restricted to testing (in the tunnel) ?.

What have I not thought of  ?.

This thread does that.

345016/17/38/42/56/64. 345015 under conversion. 345012 now under test following conversion to 9-car (as noted above by '3973EXL').

345011/13/14 not yet carried passengers since conversion.

Yes
Which 345s have not turned a wheel much yet ?.
None. 345018 appears to be the only one in that is currently elusive.

I'd imagine technically none now (or if there are some in that position it is a short term thing).

345018/67/69 are the only ones which haven't carried passengers on the TfL Rail routes. Both 345018 and 345067 have been reported running to Reading on 5Gxx workings in the past.
What have I not thought of  ?.
Does anyone know which unit is currently being used for the Friday night testing on the Heathrow branch that requires a locomotive to come from Derby to drag the unit to Hayes & Harlington loop? If it were 345018 that is being used it might explain its elusiveness.

Thank you very much for the information @JonathanH. It is all getting tantalisingly close except iirc some 7-car 345s are still required for the short platform at Paddington until the core takes over the western services.

You would need to keep 2 for the diagrams (probably 3 as a backup). Or juggle platforms at Paddington to move them away from P14.
