It's a Renatus unit and it's suffered really minor damage. It won't be withdrawn because of that.Maybe a new candidate for withdrawal, based on the pictures in this tweet from GA
My point was, given the resumption of 720 deliveries and that the Renatus units have only 3-4 months left, would they not simply dump the damaged unit in a siding for a while. It's a Renatus unit and it's suffered really minor damage. It won't be withdrawn because of that.
Looks like unit 321330 by the side numbers.Maybe a new candidate for withdrawal, based on the pictures in this tweet from GA
Depends if GA feel they have got their money's worth from the Renatus units and are ready to start dumping them. Guessing nothing short of a new pantograph and back to serviceMy point was, given the resumption of 720 deliveries and that the Renatus units have only 3-4 months left, would they not simply dump the damaged unit in a siding for a while.
I would be very surprised if they don't repair a broken window and panto when the class have 4 months left. Pantos are routine replacement items and across a fleet of trains windows are always being replaced. It's a day's work on depot, at most.My point was, given the resumption of 720 deliveries and that the Renatus units have only 3-4 months left, would they not simply dump the damaged unit in a siding for a while.
Is it not the case that it will need to be repaired in order to go off-lease, even in the event that 720 deliveries mean it isn't required in traffic?I would be very surprised if they don't repair a broken window and panto when the class have 4 months left. Repaired, or priced as though it were - a dilapidation, if you will.Is it not the case that it will need to be repaired in order to go off-lease, even in the event that 720 deliveries mean it isn't required in traffic?
If the dent is bigger than a £2 coin they lose their deposit on the 321 they rentedI wonder if it's like taking a hire car back. TOC Manager stands in front of a dent while ROSCO bloke walks around with a clipboard tutting.
https://railforums.co.uk/threads/non-urgent-tops-requests.202237/page-597#post-5850934 suggests there are still a good number of 321 workings on Saturdays on the Clacton / Ipswich / Colchester cycle and some of the branches. Are there still booked 321 workings on Saturdays between London and Colchester/Clacton or are they all 720 now?
Some extras in the morning peak from December; an additional 06:47 Clacton to LIV St, plus two additions from Southend Vic restoring an almost 10 minute service from 07:00 until 08:10, giving 16 trains per hour arriving on the GEML in the peak hour, plus some minor other alterations. Little change in the down evening peak other than the 17:30 Norwich gains a Colchester stop, meaning the 17:00 SX is the only Norwich service all day now to not stop here.I would imagine unit withdrawals will cease for a while so that GA can start running a few more 10 car Aventra sets and hopefully reinstate the full peak timetable from December while they're at it.
Looks like one won’t be going to EARM then, shame.STP 21/09 5Q76 1104 Ilford - Newport Docks
