Am I right in thinking that all of the ones that have already gone for scrap were those in the worst conditions?
There is very little difference in them, condition-wise. They have all been looked after very well and maintained in comparable condition. Unlike the 317's for example, they have always had thorough body overhauls to keep them in great nick without terrible corrosion.That would make sense.
The scrap criteria has been based on whether PRM compliant (i.e. not PRM compliant) and when due in the overhaul cycle.
Unfortunately this has meant the Clacton 'celebrity' units have gone for scrap
