Once again, thanks for the updates everyone. I'm hoping to take a trip down to London within the next couple of weeks to get as many of the remaining ThamesLink 319s which I still need for a ride. Unfortunately, eight of the 319s I still need for a ride have passed into storage, so it could be a good while until I get a chance to catch up with them unfortunately.

For those interested, the required 319s I still need (which I think are still in service) are 319001/3/6/7 and 319421/3/6/8, 437, 440/3/6, 459. While I'm down there I'll be after 313s, 315s and 700s too. I am also pencilling in a second London trip for the final 319 weekend too, fingers crossed I'll be able to make it.

I still need five of London Midland's as well as two of Northern's.

Not sure if 006 is back in service yet, last seen at selhurst after its earth fault.

319 456 no longer at Wolverton
It has been painted in FULL Northern livery
It is now at Brush for the 319 flex program

Talking of Northern Class 319s, is there any indication with five of the twelve additional units will be leaving the franchise after all of the Class 331s have been delivered and entered service? Personally, I would guess at the 319/0 and 319/2 duos along with 319450, which if I remember rightly has adverts saying something along the lines of "just visiting".

Not a good guess - 319/0s and 319/2s are now off lease to Northern!

And there were anotger 2 sets at the other end of selhurst depot too. Think they got stranded after Wednesday's lineside fire

Oh right, does that mean they're being replaced by four 319/4s instead?

Northern now have the required 32 units in the pool so why is there a need for replacements?
With the 8 319/4s likely to become bi-modes that would surely mean that 5 319/3s would go off lease

What I thought you said was Northern had returned the 319/0s and 319/2s to Porterbrook so they could be be exchanged for other units, but never mind. I must have misread so I apologise.

I thought the plan was five of the additional twelve units would be returned to Porterbrook once all of the Class 331s have arrived, rather than five of the initial fleet of twenty?

Yes - the plan was the five were to come from the additional twelve but there are only eight 319/4s (and eight required for bi-modes) in the pool at present and there were only four additional 319/3s but no doubt plans can/will change again - there's plenty of time

Sorry, but why are LM taking 433? They don't exactly make much use of the seven they've already got. 2x2 on a couple of peak workings and one on the Abbey line.

319218 and 319219 didn't go back with many seats left and various other bits to supplement Northerns own 319s. This is why Northern has a few sets running round with Northern and Thameslink coloured seats.

Is the TOC not expected to return them to operation condition before going off lease?

I thought I remembered reading that about the reinstatement of the 317 christmas tree units in Anglia around the time the 317/7's went off lease.

My guess is that because they are so unrealible

Half of the 319 services are usually short formed , or run by 350s due to the appalling reliability of the 319s

The abbey line has suffered too I believe with frequent cancellations

Why did they use the 319/2s as spares. Far more comfy than 319/0s and 3s

It's either a massive conspiracy or a simple 9 for 7 typo. Thanks to TEW below reading it properly (as I now have) we now know it's written as an alternative option.
