319 448 has arrived at Allerton so is no longer stored at Wolverton

It also has Northern blue doors on a plain white livery, the same livery as 319450

It was sent with refurbished 319362. The Northern 319's are being repainted to plain white with dark blue doors too, its apparently part of their new livery.

This was 47815, with 319s 218 & 219 in tow. I'd expect the Leicester move to be the 47 and barrier coaches returning to base.

So it seems that Northern don't want these two units then unless its for temporary storage at Long Marston.
I've updated the storage location for these two units.

That surprises me tbh . Why dont Northern want to use the better , more comfortable 319/2s , rather than the 0s and 3s , which are not in that good a condition .

They could well be at Long Marston for storage until there is space at Wolverton for them to be refurbished.

The pioneer of the class, 319001 spotted at Wimbledon without branding. Out of all the 319'a I thought this would be one of the last to go. 456001 and 460001 were the last to leave when the classes were withdrawn from the Southern Fleet.

Thought it would be best to create a thread for this rather than clog up other Thameslink related threads about the 319's heading to storage. This thread is also to keep track of the 319's in storage

A few days ago, 47812 hauled 319 453 and 319 214 to Long Marston from Cricklewood sidings for storage, joining 319 451 there.
Sad to see these leaving the Thameslink network, but hopefully they'll all find a new home to go to.

The following 319's are withdrawn from the Thameslink fleet and are in storage in the following locations:
Stored at Long Marston
319214
319218
319219
319451
319453
Stored at Wolverton
319004
319005
319370
319383
319385
319424
319431
319434
319442
319456
319458
Stored at Allerton(to enter service with Northern)
319448
319450
Stored at Brush Loughborough (for evaluation for the 319 FLEX Programme)
319427
Units with Thameslink branding removed but still in service (so will likely be in storage within the next few weeks)
319001
319002
319006
319007
319009
319010
319215
319217
319372
319422
319428
319432
319454
319459
I will update this list as more are placed into storage or have had Thameslink logos removed

Why is 319 383 stored at Wolverton
It is a Northern unit based at Allerton
Is it off lease or is it a typo?

I think it's been noted elsewhere that all 319s are being debranded, so not necessarily a sign that a particular unit is about to go off lease, IIRC.

I think so too, since I've been seeing a lot more debranded ones. I had two today, 319215 and 443. However, last Friday 319 012 still had TL logos.

Has anyone seen 319220 recently? I keep seeing 319215 and 217 but not 220.

The 3s are newer....

True , but they are fully 3+2 ( which is bad enough ) along with those terrible 1980s low seats that all EMUs of that era seem to have

The 2s on the other hand , have 2+2 more comfortable seating , tables and a 2+1 first class section . So it would be better for passengers I guess , if Northern use these

If there are other reasons like reliability or anything else , then I may be incorrect

Today's Railways UK's April issue said it was a typo, 383 is still at Wolverton.

Typo, 383 with Northern but 384 at Wolverton, along with 319370/381/385, as has already been pointed out in this thread already.

i do wonder who makes the decision...? The TOC, the leasing company or the DfT?

Yes I saw it yesterday. Also 319.215 + 217 were coupled together for much of the day but then 217 was on it's own. Don't know if that means 215 is about to be stopped

215 will soldier one for a while more 4x319 units rumoured to leave this weekend.

319 215 is now coupled to 319 443. Was really happy to have had 215 today on the Sutton Loop. 217 was running as a solo 4 car unit this lunch time. This was the first time I had been on a 319/2 since 2007 when I had 319 218 on a Southern service from Purley to London Victoria.

Cheers, have removed it from the list.

List is still missing 319381/384, stored at Wolverton. They were reported as having moved there several weeks, if not months, ago. I haven't seen anything to suggest that they have since left, unless I've missed something!
