Class 319 LNR withdrawal date

I think I might have ridden my last 319. I avoided it yesterday because it was a 4...if it won't go back up to 8 I think that's my lot!

I assume the two /2s on Camden are definitively stopped now, i.e. they'd cancel rather than get them out again?

I am in the same mind frame; if it be an 8car I'll come do most/all the pm workings.

If a 4car probably not, or maybe just insect move 2B61 to Harrow

So Monday leaves Northern as the last 319 operator, but before everybody says that the North gets a poor deal, at least theirs are due to be withdrawn within weeks anyway.

319214 and 319219 made their way from Camden to Kings Heath at some point in the last day or two. These units will be decommissioned and are due to leave Kings Heath by rail on Monday 4th December.

I did all 5 trains but not all throughout, doing Euston Watford Euston Bletchley Euston Harrow

Fair number cranks about although I think not as many as last Friday ???

Both 319s noisy, 433 the noisier of the two. 457 no heat (well not in the motor coach anyway); there is another report elsewhere stating 433 no heat, it was certainly heating on all 5 runs I did whereas 457 was not heated and I abandoned it retreating to 433 as therms were as important today as well as decibels.

One other note about 20:54 ex Euston, the last planned diagrammed Euston 319 departure. This train was also the last planned diagrammed public passenger advertised service train departure from London for a DC motored main line EMU.

Pedants can nitpick all they like, but main line excludes LU, departure mean departure not arrival (so next Monday don't count), passenger means passenger not ECS, and London means London, so NT 319, and 507/508, and 318/320 don't count, and 325s ain't passenger.

IMHO that is a sort of significant event. In my ranking of the esoteric anyway.

319s yes, but Northern will (assuming all TfW examples are now withdrawn) still have some 769s.

TFW 769s were taken out of service when the flirts came into service a few months back. 769s on Northern will be kept in service for a few years.

Well that's it. Fairly big amount of enthusiasts with a lot of normals on one service as dawn slowly broke this morning was something like memory lane. Despite the hole in my bank balance now it was a memorable moment to see.

Despite the idea that they are to be kept over just incase... I feel like this is a good farewell for the units on LNWR and for them in London Especially...

There's a video of it on Twitter somewhere, it was an 8 car formation both in LM livery, which I'm fairly sure means it was the /4s as I think the /2s were in white.

Didn't make it onto it myself sadly, was considering it but I was too tired to drive all the way home from the Lakes yesterday and ended up staying overnight and finishing the journey this morning.

Do you know if any 319s have left by road? I think I have read that this had been done in the past, but I can't see how a low loader of a length to carry a coach could negotiate some of the street corners leaving the depot - particularly from Gladstone Road onto Spencer Bridge Road.

Appears to be cancelled, at least according to RTT. 37800 looks to have only made it as far as Northampton Up Receptions and not into the depot
