With the exception of 008/101 it could be done, but I doubt they will consider it worth the effort.
I agree as I can`t think of a worthwhile reason to do so and they have more immediate matters on their plate just now I would suggest.

8.How many of the Wolverton units have been actually used on passenger service or training ?
8.
There's 3 that haven't been used since they arrived from Wolverton at all, those being:
175004
175113
175116
The units in bold here must be in a really bad state that they've been there for that long and still not left yet.Produced this list for their transfer process, including dates of their Wolverton arrivals and departures and their current locations. Any corrections are very much welcomed as I do make silly mistakes!

I thought that too, however it could also be units that were marked for the refurb and have had that work carried out. But it could also be a combination of both. Depends on what unit appears in green first to confirm whether that's true or not.The units in bold here must be in a really bad state that they've been there for that long and still not left yet.
002 has no issues.Today 175001/002/003/007 all started but don't seemed to have finished being cancelled.

Correct, however 175004 is the only 175 made up completely of something else, all other misformed sets have at least one correct carriage in them. Thanks very much for this list Bill.
I notice from another forum that the unit known as 175004 is actually made up of the driving cars from 175109. so presumably 50704 and 79704 are still at Wolverton. also guess the in "175004" still carry their original 507 and 797 car numbers.
Obviously this is not the only misformed class 175 in service.
From what I was seeing 003 on 2nd of July was doing Newquay while its 150 was dead. That`s not great !
Have all four units failed this morning and are being returned to Laira ?
Just seen @BillStampy post same time as mine, do we have any reasons as to what faults have inflicted them today ?
It's Okehampton to free up two 150s. I'd hope it will be three cars as the Interchange station should be open by then.Just seen an internal "Project Update", 2 diagrams that involve Barnstaple and Okehampton are due to go to 175 operation on 31/08/26.
The next step up after that is May 2027, according to this document.

Well it does give them nearly a year.GWR must be banking on a lot of reliability issues being sorted by then, along with Exeter driver training on the units.

Ah, understood!Barnstaple and Okehampton is end of next month, that's what I was referring to.

Looking at the update, it only lists one diagram of Barnstaple and one of Barnstaple/Okehampton so likely to start off they'll run between 15x units.Barnstaple and Okehampton is end of next month, that's what I was referring to.
Only one diagram is listed so will only free one 150 and 1 158It's Okehampton to free up two 150s. I'd hope it will be three cars as the Interchange station should be open by then.
They are probably frightened to use them at Barnstaple as one diagram goes to Axminster and the other to Paignton..
That feels risky, I can’t imagine trying to rescue a failed 175 on the Barnstaple line with a 158 on the service in front of it and a 158 behind it would be much fun.Looking at the update, it only lists one diagram of Barnstaple and one of Barnstaple/Okehampton so likely to start off they'll run between 15x units.
158/168/170/175 at 100mph rather than 90mph is a 168/170/175 timing load, so, 175.Another move from Wolverton to Exeter is now scheduled for this Tuesday.
It says that it is pathed as a 158 or 175, so I would guess it is probably going to be a 175, however the 150 that was supposed to come back down this week didn't, so it could also be that...
