Let's hope it's a 3 car.

Being in Paignton I thought I have a look. There must be two trains . One arriving 0743 platform 2 and departing 0750. Another arriving 0810 platform 1 going down the sidings and reversing and leaving platform 2 at 0826.

There is this tomorrow night
The Paignton trains now not running

Whatever happened to the Paignton runs, 5L61 has nothing to do with it. It forms from SWRs 1L61 arrival. The link on post 3215 is all STP workings at Exeter that day not just GWR specific ones.

When the link was posted they showed two trains; one to Paignton and one to Goodrington sidings 10 minutes apart hence the next two posts.

Something went wrong that lead to 2P20 being cancelled PNZ - PLY [175006]. It's now running back with 175111 on 2P27.

Another thing I noticed is that 175111 ran 1A39 [PNZ-PAD] as far as Plymouth on Saturday, which I find quite interesting. Does show that the units are now able to be used more regularly incase it needs to replace other stock or gets moved around by service disruption and is able to help bring the main service timetable back into action in the most efficient way possible.

Here's the other one that makes more sense, a move to Laira:
Doesn't appear to have run today, although not cancelled yet.

Edit: Now cancelled.

Some action at Exeter today, 3E05 0305 Laira to EXD 175001/111. 2C05 0655 175001 to Penzance. it then appears 175111 hangs around Exeter until returning to Laira 5Z48 1705

Goes from Platform 4 to 2 arrive 0700
then from platform 2 at 0706 to Barnstaple 158798. Something wrong?

Alongside platform2 is Hyde Park siding, d'ont know if you would classify as platform 2 though. it's long enough to stable a 3 car 175

It's showing as being planned to arrive on platform two, but the two is still greyed out, meaning it didn't end up in that platform, and in the siding next to it instead.

111 spent some time on Exeter depot too, likely familiarisation for fitters etc.

175011 was replaced by 150232 on Newquay this afternoon, looks like it went back to Laira.

Haven't seen any mention of 175101 of late .... does anyone know what's happening with 175101, or whether it's going to need to be sent back to Wolverton for further work before entering service?

Many thanks.

From what I remember, I think it came out of Laira a couple of times, but didn't really get any further than that before being sent back.

Someone else might be able to go into it further.

Yup, 175011 failed so we sent the Plymouth standby 150 down to reinstate the service.

Needed some component changed on Laira and have been waiting parts

Thanks for the updates @Apedlar12 and @Jrocks.

Hopefully it'll be out & about when I visit Cornwall in late July.

Strange it's coming up in the Paignton workings in post 3215/16/17 now. Maybe a flaw in realtime trains?
The links in those posts are filtered for STP trains at Exeter St Davids, 5L61 is an STP train at Exeter St Davids, therefore meets the filter.

Having seen the list of work, LA are carrying out on them,
Makes you wonder why bother with Wolverton.
Coupled with normal exams you can see why they are struggling

I can imagine that there maybe a lot of catching up work on the units to carry out prior to training/passenger service but I can`t see many exams having to be carried out on the ones that have been let lose on the network so far as at 15000 mile exam intervals not many are reaching this surely bearing in mind the recent reliability ?

Theres a lot more work & exams going on then everyone thinks,
Which should have been done at Wolverton.

LA are overwelmed just trying to get enough into to traffic in the first place

It does sounds like they are pretty overloaded with 175 work at the moment and possibly doesn`t help matters that they may not have people with 175 experience to assist or to question if they need anything explained or clarified regarding the units.

I am not questioning the depot staffs expertise or knowledge at all but 175s are a pretty unique fleet along with the 180s. Maybe they need some help in the short term just to help them through the initial difficult times and once they are up to speed it will be a piece of cake for them :)

011 failed yesterday does anyone have an idea of the nature of the failure ?

Yes, nothing catastrophic yesteday luckily...

Just a bit of water dripping from the roof!

Thanks for the reply and glad it wasn`t major.

Was the dripping water into the saloon or the cab or maybe vestibule ?

Serious enough to fail it ? could it have been managed to stay in service ?

There doesn`t seem a willingness to manage in service problems at the moment ?

I thought the dripping water reply was sarcasm???

Air con condenser failure?
Usually, and I don't mean this sarcastically, if it's dripping water inside a 175 it means it's raining outside very heavily.

Looks like they locked a coach out of use because of it. Because of that, was better to swap if out and allow Laira that extra bit of time to look into the fault and fix it since we had a bit of wiggle room in our fleet that day
