Well of course. Nut a white train with blobs of green would look more "at home" than a white train with blobs of red.Depends whether or not their livery will be green with silver stripey stuff.

They tried last Wednesday to send a 175/s to Laira; cancelled at the last minute. It is a second attempt. Nothing to do with the 150.Sundays move was quoted elsewhere as 150232 which failed at Northampton and returned to Wolverton. Consequently Mondays 5H71 was cancelled. Tomorrows move to Laira does look to be a genuine 175 move rather than a second attempt for 150232, but I could be wrong.
Unlike first delivery which ran via Chippenham, Bath, Bristol. It appears tomorrows goes via Newbury and Castle Cary.Realtime Trains | 5V84 1014 Wolverton Centre Sidings to Laira T.& R.S.M.D. | 05/11/2025

Another go tomorrow.
Out of the two, yes. They'll be re-liveried, put it that way.Well of course. Nut a white train with blobs of green would look more "at home" than a white train with blobs of red.
At the moment it looks like nationalisation is keeping old names and liveries.Out of the two, yes. They'll be re-liveried, put it that way.
We shall see what happens. At the moment it looks like nationalisation is keeping old names and liveries.
From memory there were some 165, 166 turbo that kept their old First colours until about 2 years ago. So having everything in a new livery seems to be very low priority.
Go to SWR suburban, and will still find trains in SWT red, and they lost the contract over 8 years ago. So changing colours is very gradual

Oh oops. *They may or may not be re-liviered, and if they are re-liveried, it will be into one livery or another. There, hope that's OKWhat source have you for that sorry?

The interior/exterior refresh, in any case.On its way - just passed it at Acton. A single 2-car unit running under its own power, still in TfW livery.
I believe the return from storage work is being done as a separate process to the interior/exterior GWR refresh which should follow.
What does this mean? Before the item deletes Master Bates
It probably refers to the urban myth about the names of characters from the 1970s children’s program Captain Pugwash. What does this mean?
Ah, thanks. It probably refers to the urban myth about the names of characters from the 1970s children’s program Captain Pugwash.
001 As previously mentioned, have seen pictures of it passing Newbury Racecourse and Exeter St Thomas2 car 175 passed Dawlish Cams at 1602. Still white and red. Too quick and small to make numbers out. Seems a shame they won't move 2 or 3 units at once.
003 has Wolverton upgrades, not 002I think situation is now :
Stored at Ely
175 004, 005, 010 (3x2 car)
175 103, 104, 105, 109, 110 (5x3 car)
and 175008 which is not formed as a unit
Wolverton Works :
175 006, 011 (2x2 car)
175 101, 102, 106, 107, 108, 111, 112, 113, 115, 116 (10x3 car)
Laira :
175 001, 002 (2x2 car with Wolverton updates)
175 003, 007, 009 (3x2 car for training)
175 114 (1x3car for training).
I was going to say.003 has Wolverton upgrades, not 002
A new internal refresh (to replace the 2019-2022 one) would be to match whatever livery the units get re-liveried into, not because there's a need for it.There isn’t any need for an internal refresh on these units - TFW did one only about 18 months before they stopped using them.
TFW refurbs 175s from 2022
Is GWR taking 20 175's for traffic, leaving 6 at Ely as spares donor in lieu of 175008?I think situation is now :

Taking all 27Is GWR taking 20 175's for traffic, leaving 6 at Ely as spares donor in lieu of 175008?
That seems like a waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere. I regularly travel on trains whose livery and upholstery is that of a TOC that disappeared over eight years ago, and it doesn't seem to matter to most passengers. They just need to clearly show GWR logos so that passengers with GWR-only tickets know they can use them.A new internal refresh (to replace the 2019-2022 one) would be to match whatever livery the units get re-liveried into, not because there's a need for it.
Ok they should get logos, but how many GWR only tickets are there where they’re going? Don’t mean train specific advances. That seems like a waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere. I've no idea, but I'm guessing that they may overlap with XC at least, either now or in the future.Ok they should get logos, but how many GWR only tickets are there where they’re going? Don’t mean train specific advances.
