For anyone still rather doubting the arrival of these, here is 175114 & 107 in Penzance this morning. Seats and window width still look excellent (a great replacement for the Mk3s) even if the Harribo is optional!

I miss these, can't wait for them to enter service with GWR.

Just need a coat of green paint now!

Those seats were great in Wales, they'll do great stuff down there!

The main issue is lack of crew that sign them, there are now GWR drivers and guards that are passed out on them, but not many at all, they're definitely not where they wanted to be on this yet. Hopefully they can be drip feed into service from the December timetable change, but don't hold your breath.
Seeing as December 13th is intended to be the last day of HST running, I don't think they have many options other than to get them ready before then!

If there's no crew to operate them then they won't be in service, HST's or not!

If they are not due to be painted, they shouldn't be painted. The money could be better spent elsewhere. Just stick GWR logos on the side and perhaps green vinyl on the doors

Wonder what happened to 5Z21 0623 Plymouth to Liskeard

This service is partially cancelled

This service was cancelled between Liskeard and Plymouth due to the train operator's request (TB).

Of note, this has caused Realtime Trains some serious confusion with it believing that a 15 Car 175 was operating in and out of Penzance.

They'll be getting some sticky-back plastic rather than paint, but many will enter service before being treated.

I think they're a great train - and very much an upgrade on the HSTs in their present form - the sooner than can go into service, the better.

There was a TRUST anomaly, it didn’t run at all.

Has it been said if it'll be a full re-vinyl job into GWR livery or just a bit of green here and there and the GWR logos?

Highly likely it’ll be full height GWR vinyls. Although what I did notice this week is, hopefully when the re-livery program is in full swing, some attention is paid to some of the crispier parts of the paintwork (seemed to be a few spots around vent grills mostly).

Doesn't look like GWR has had much (or indeed anything) done to the interior in that photo. The ends of the tables may be more rounded than before - not sure?

They won’t have for that one (114), they haven’t been using the refreshed units out on the test runs it seems.

One bonus of the 175's over the Castle sets might be their flexible formation options and thus splitting and joining units at e.g. Plymouth if desired.

Hmmmm. Says it is a WTT for tomorrow only. Could it be a loaded test run? Surely they are not doing a press run for a DMU that is 25 years old

On a wider note, it may not be worth repainting any train into a new livery when it moves TOC.

GBR may decide on a new (or even revived) standard livery for their operations in the medium term.

OT, but I think GBR will have a new livery when it properly launches - all part of the fanfare.

That is potentially years away though, if it even happens, and painting it part of periodic maintenance to protect the bodywork.
