You are mistaking Bombardier for a firm that offers flexibility to overcome problems for their customers...

:lol::lol::lol:

Still another downside with Bombardier, their aftercare attitude of if we need to work on it, send it back to Derby! At least Siemens deliver rolling stock with Seats, and even Almost do too!

Bombardier are like the Alexander-Dennis of the Train industry. You will get the products cheap but my word will you have problems with them.

According to http://www.abrail.co.uk/dmus.htm, the following 150s are to go to FGW:

150101
150102
150104
150106
150108
150122
150124
150126

Can anyone confirm/otherwise this
That's 1 unit short of the 9 confirmed to be transferring to FGW. People are just guessing as to the particular units at the moment. Most sites just list all the current LM 150/1s. As many of the three cars are to reformed, some of the 150/1s formed out of those could transfer to FGW.

When did you say they're going? Please be after all the 172/3s have arrived - if capacity drops on the Snow Hill lines... My morning service is already like a cattle truck and it's 3 carriages! :o :s

They'll go as 172s are introduced, there won't be a time when LM are left with a lack of trains to run the timetable. 150s will only be released when they are no longer needed.

Good!
What did 150125 do?
I'm not sure but was it the one where the two carriages had to be separated as one carriage was unusable for some reason. The remaining car then went around coupled to a 153.

No they aren't?
No they are actually, last September or thereabouts I read in TR UK that the 150's concerned had been put on a new lease to FGW but had been sub-leased back to LM. :) By the way, all this about 150125, don't you mean 150221, as that's the one that caught fire, and now one vehicle is running with a 153. Or did 125 catch fire as well?

150221 caught fire. 150125 came on hire last summer but was known to have a few mechanical issues, still managed to run fairly reliably in its time with FGW.

thw 153 was 153369 now 153399 .
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
following fire damage to one of its Class 150/2 fleet, First Great Western have formed a new hybrid unit - 153399. Formed of 153369 and the '57 car' from 150221 (57221), the hybrid unit has assumed the identity of a Class 153 for clearance reasons as a reminder that Class 153s are banned from operating beyond Southampton towards Portsmouth. The damaged car is to be repaired at Laira.

Passed a 172 today after pulling out of Blakedown towards Hagley. The 172 was going the other way towards Kidderminster at about 2:50pm
Does anyone know anything more about this?

I saw a 172 from the park near Hagley station today when walking home, no idea which one though! Additionally, Hagley Station is finally getting Customer Information Screens!

172331 172332 172338 stabled.
172339 and 172341 are moving around on test.

I presume 172339 arrived on Friday.

It is a shame that the Class 172 cannot be kept going so that enough of them can be built to replace the class 142's, but I presume some of those will get replace by the GW Class 165/166 fleet of trains when the IEP trains come online in about 2016 or is it 2014?

Boo!

(Sorry, just had to do that!)

It can only mean that Worcester is finally getting on with training on the 172s. I don't know how long it's going to take for that to be completed, but it can't be more than a few more weeks until the 172s enter service.

Good news that I read on either this thread or the other LM thread that 150001 and 150002 are to stay with LM. Hopefully they'll be used more than just now and again.

150001 and 150002 are used quite a lot; I see them regularly on services.
