GWR and the ROSCO looked at what would be involved in fitting a toilet in a coach that had never had one, thus lacked a water tank, etc, and decided it was a tad on the expensive side - fortunately Northern's plan to create 3-car 150 formations seems to have come to the rescue, hence the swap deal to keep down the costs of getting the various coaches smartened up and PRM-compliant for a few more years of life.

Thanks for that; must admit I wasn't aware that it was destined for a 3-car and thought that the plan was to create a 'new' 150/2 out of it. If destined for a 3-car then the scope of the work is much less, so makes more sense.

Also Northern had agreed with Angel to take on the 'newly created' 2 car 150 from 2019, along with the 3 car 150s and 2 other Angel 150s still with GWR, so Angel realised it was easy for them to find a solution to the problem.
