I Had huge problems coming home from Putney To Shepperton, at 1pm they closed Putney SWT Station, there were two fire engines there and a big hose going down to the platforms, a big fireman told me there was fire there and that also East Putney Station was closed. I don't know if LUL trains were being terminated at Putney Bridge or going through East Putney without stopping. At 3pm Putney was still shut and they let me get a 93 bus to Wimbledon, where their staff we were helpful, in spite of massive problems there as well. I waited over an hour for a Shepperton train and arrived home just after 5pm, much later than I should have done. I must say how impressed I was with the staff at Wimbleodn who were dealing very well with the huge numbers of passengers there and they were even saying that rail tickets could be used on local buses to Raynes Park, Norbiton and Kingston and even telling what the bus route numbers were.
I hear today that SWT local trains are messed up this morning, owing to a level crossing problem at Barnes.
I hope they sort these problems out by Monday morning, as I am starting a new job after 18 months of unemployment.
