Either there’s very few trains running on a Sunday or a very heavy reliance on rest day working
Anyone know how long these apprenticeships take to complete. Thanks
Just out of curiosity, is there a difference in salary between Chiltern and XC despite them both being under the umbrella of Arriva? It says on this thread that Chiltern is around £56k once qualified and I’m sure I read that XC is £65k? Obviously, neither are to be grumbled at, but was curious nonetheless.
London Overground are Arriva and now on 70k. Grand central are Arriva and on different again.Just out of curiosity, is there a difference in salary between Chiltern and XC despite them both being under the umbrella of Arriva? Just curious about this in the advert:
“to arrive promptly before 9:00 am at Aylesbury depot for the 3-4 months course”.
I’ve read some TOC’s provide accommodation near to the training centre, is that also the case with Chiltern or is it travel from home to Aylesbury for training each day? If it is travel from home, it’d be around a 3-4 hour round trip so wouldn’t really be viable every day.
I don't believe Chiltern do this, no.
Certainly Birmingham trainees have travelled to Aylesbury every day for training in the past.
nope, get applyingI passed the train drivers assessment center with DB cargo this month. If I applied for one of these jobs and go through the shift would I need to complete another assessment center?
So if you meet their requirements and you live 45 minutes from their Birmingham/London stations you will be looking at travelling 4-6 hours per day (if you live in the further out parts of their Birmingham and London stations.) I don't believe Chiltern pay for travel expenses either but i stand to be correctedJust curious about this in the advert:

Once you upload your cv it will create an account for you.Might be a dumb question but it doesn't show how to make an account with them to applygor the role just the option to upload a CV. Will I get an account after uploading one?
Is it okay to apply to this even if I have applied to cross country trains who are both under Arriva???
I have multiple applications in for DB TOCs as well, had no issues being able to apply.Anyone else getting a message about already having applied for the role?
I have 2 applications in with DB group TOCs, 1 for XC and 1 with Greater Anglia.
I may have applied for Chiltern in the past but never had any assessment with them.
I assume I should still be able to apply?
enhancedStandard or enhanced?
nope, get applying

During the application they ask if you have any county court judgments. Are credit checks carried out at some point?
Thanks for your response.Trainees / apprentices are expected to have the means to make their own way to the training centre, free travel would be provided on Chiltern Railways services and on other Arriva group trains such as CrossCountry although it might take a little time for your pass to be issued.

Greater Anglia is not a DB / Arriva group TOC. XC however is.

I'm unaware of credit checks forming part of the recruitment process

If I want to update my CV can I do it on the DB portal or so I need to resubmit the application? I Ideally want to speak to the recruitment team but can’t find any contact details
