Hi there,

Has anyone had any insight to when the applications for the trainee train drivers role for chiltern(based out of Aylesbury) will be progressing? I applied, then reapplied but currently waiting to resit the MMI. (Which I might have to re do the entire Psych tests due to passing the 2 year mark from this month).

If you’ve got two applications open for the same role, this probably has halted your progress. I would close one. I’ve advised a few people of this before and then applications have progressed, but again; no set time expectation here.

Another thing is I am sure OPC will shut down for Christmas and new years. So depends on when your tests expire; you might have to do them again anyway sadly.

Thanks for the information. I did apply for the Banbury one as well as it’s also in my under 1 hour range of distance. But I’ve emailed them, had no reply.
You’re saying you think itd be a good idea to retract the Banbury one?

retract the one that’s the least progressed. When you’ve passed the MMI, email and say you could be considered for either/or if both vacancies are still out.

They can then decide who you attend DMI with

Has anyone undertaken a DMI for Marylebone - if so, how did you get on? Were you offered a position? If so, was you given a course date or were you placed on a talent pool?

If you were placed on a talent pool? Is this is good thing? are there any future opportunities for those in the talent pool or not for Marylebone?

It's a lot of situational based stuff, name a time where you did this/that (star method) Obviously brush up on the company. And be yourself, mine was very relaxed.

As said above, very much a super relaxed version of your mmi. Similar questions except you don’t see them before hand.

Do your research on the company, but I would say ( which was my approach ), just be you and relaxed.

They know it’s a high pressure moment for someone being interviewed and questioned, so being relaxed ( and of course giving good answers ) gives them the cue that you work well in a pressure situation.

I have been informed today I have passed stage one and am now invited to stage 2 on 4th Dec (Chiltern - Marylebone)
Did you manage to pass? Because there’s was only three of us in the end for the MMI but I did pass.

Could be a few months for Aylesbury.
Do you know anything about Marylebone? It did say that wanted to start in Feb 2026. Since starts of Dec passed all my assessments. Still waiting on DMI

will be nothing for the first half of the year I expect, but I would contact recruitment to be sure and ask the question.

I suspect you are not the only one in this situation

Yeah I did email them no reply though
Inbox is snowed under, run by 1 person and migrating to a newer system. They will get round to it eventually but as long as you are just waiting DMI I would suspect you’d be fine once they advertised again, subject to those who have already completed DMI.

as I said before, second half of the year unless things change.

Hope this helps
