Cheques? Never had one with my bank account yet and probably never will. Used to get them a lot for my birthday, but it's a hassle walking to the bank, waiting in a queue, putting it in the machine or giving it to the clerk, and that's if it's the right time of day. If not, it goes in the cash machine and it adds an extra 2 days to process - and on my account it's already 6 working days to process. I still get them from my mum to pay for stuff from my college, but that's about it. She used to pay all her bills by cheque but after a few got lost in the post, direct debits and phoning up to pay is the new way for her.
In the shop I work in, about 90% of transactions are card now. Only children buying things with their parents' money and people on holiday (don't know why, we accept foreign credit cards too!) seem to use cash!
