Afternoon All,

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here for posting their bits and pieces over the past few years.

I filled out my uniform requirement the other day and i guess it's finally sunk in that my training starts in January and i've finally got there. It's been a few years in the making with a few juddery moments but i'm heading towards the classroom at last.

There have been people on here that have given me (and others no doubt) invaluable information and support to help me get to this point so, seeing as i've now left my job and have Xmas off i am raising a glass to you all!

I don't mean to hijack this thread

This year I passed the assessments to the national standard upon my first attempt and I thank this forum for the wealth of knowledge.

I failed my first managers interview in august and despite passing the sift for another company was turned down due to their higher criteria.... but recently sat one for another company having first passed a telephone interview... And passed! It shows the importance of perseverance and learning and again I a very grateful to many on this forum for their support. I am now on hold but having got this far is still an achievement.

PS interestingly the company who required higher criteria were advertising depot not mainline which proves how bizarre the scoring system is a simple pass/fail would be much better... Clearly I reached the level required
