With that then I'm going to assume that 028 was gubbed and needed moved to Polmadie for repairs and 043 was sent down in its place to save leaving them short in London. Could also be that 028 was due an exam. Sometimes if 92s are faulty they moved to short runs such as the drawbacks in/out off Euston or put on 5C11/1C11 and 1B26/5B26 just incase of a failure so they are 'relatively' close to Polmadie.
Won't there have to be some sort of interlocking within the carriage sets for the power operated doors? Such as if the emergency access is operated (or the power to the same is lost) the brakes will be fully applied.

Still a cancellation and the service ran very short formed so that means Sundays nights northbound will be impacted. read the twitter posts, passengers were still in Glasgow after midnight.
Were the Glasgow pax bussed - or special trained - to Carstairs to join the train there?

It ran with 1 coach less. Hardly very short formed.
Don't know how full it was, but dropping a coach off the sleeper is probably a much greater inconvenience than with any other train.
Bear in mind its already short formed by 3 due to cracking and maintenance issues and 3 were 'supposedly' shunted off on depot in order for it to run.
Thats not surprising in the slightest. No plan B it seems.
Ofcourse 3 were shunted off in a way... you can't just pick 1 coach out the middle like a Hornby set and Remove it. 1 coach removed in total.
So thats now a rake of 11 vice what would normally be 16 if there was no issues. Thats well short, school holidays coming up too. The fleet is in dire straights. Dropping like flies. Bookings will be getting cancelled at this rate.
It looks like it's the 92 that's failed ( 92 033 showing on Real Time Trains as being on this ); there's a 1Z99 approaching...
I'm booked on the Fort William run on 11 March, so I wonder how things will be then. Perhaps they can borrow some GWR cars for an interesting rake...!

Not sure these are always easy to separate, as for CS in particular a breakdown on one evening could often lead to changes to timetable or train formation the following evening.
