Makes sense, the Aberdeen portion is lighter during the summer months, plus the gradients are generally less taxing.

Reported elsewhere that a carriage had to be shunted out of the Fort William portion.

There was definitely a single coach in the siding against the wall at Edinburgh when I passed through this afternoon.
