What are all the routes the sleeper do? Not what they CAN do but what they ACTUALLY do and sign.

These are the ones i know of.

EWS operate this train, but they can also use Freightliner drivers

The FSR Track Access Agreement :
This allows operation via any reasonable route, within the rail type approval

If the Inverness / Aberdeen / Fort William was unable to get to Edinburgh northbound, then it would be permitted via Mossend, even though it would not normally go this route
Included would also be the movement of locos to meet this train (either at Carstairs or Mossend)

In addition to some of those listed I've done:
Colwich-Stoke-Crewe / Crewe-Manchester-Preston / Edinburgh suburban (years ago mind) / Edinburgh-Ladybank-Perth.

Fairly sure it has gone via the Hertford Loop as it was quoted as 'new' for an 87 when they were rumoured to be working one weekend. Presumably has the odd jolly on different routes between Law Jn and Glasgow, certainly I've been round the houses a few times with Virgin so presume Scotrail have done similar. As it is EWS drivers (I think?) then most routes should be signed, its just finding out what they actually have used.

Edinburgh - Aberdeen / Inverness / Fort William
Using three Class 67s for these portions

Electrified :
Euston - Glasgow / Edinburgh
Using five Class 90s for these portions
A further loco is required for the ECS move, Polmadie - Glasgow, but EWS use anything and everything for this

Pairs of 67s are used when the train is diverted via Kilmarnock and/or Settle
The Edinburgh portion of the Glasgow does not run, and passengers to/from Edinburgh have to travel on a "special" to/from Carlisle or Carstairs

When the trian is diverted via ECML, the Edinburgh portion of the Glasgow service does not run, but the Glasgow portion sits at Edinburgh for about an extra 15 to 20 minutes
A single Class 67 pilots between Euston and Peterborough (might be wrong on that though!)

I know on the Full east coast it uses 90s and goes via Finsbury-Camden-Willesden and reverses.

its been known that when it was diverted down the ecml, it was double 67 hauled from peterborough due to an isolation, and it also had a 67 on the back for the brent- euston part of the journey, iirc the 2x 67 on the front was so it did not stall on the camden banks. the 90 was still part of the consist

Although I can't give you a straight answer to your question, I can tell you what's been posted a few weeks ago on the VT yahoo group:

Period C - Monday 24th March 2008 to Saturday 17th May 2008

Saturdays and Sundays Period B WCML services
During the above inclusive dates, the WCML is blocked between Lockerbie and
Carstairs South Jn. On these dates, Virgin West Coast and First Keolis
TransPennine Express will be starting/terminating WCML services to/from
Carlisle, with a limited number of Virgin West Coast services
starting/terminating at Lockerbie, using the crossover and ground frame to
the north of the station in order to reverse.

Virgin West Coast will also be operating a limited service on these dates
between Glasgow and Central and Carlisle via the G&SW/GB&K. For this, it
has been requested that Signal Box Opening hours be extended at both
Kirkconnel and Lugton.



In connection with ROTR block NW4001 between Preston and Lancaster 04:05

I am not aware any sleepers have gone via the S&C or G&SW in recent times they seem to prefer to send via the ECML if a large section of line is shut...

Just this sunday? or until when? because i'm going to Birmingham Friday 14th December to pick up the "Moor and More" railtour, so i could get the sleeper back to Aberdeen on Sunday 16th which i may do anyway because i have never been on a sleeper before

Every Sunday until end of timetable it's due into Preston later so i don't know if it takes a different route each week or something but tonight it's via Coventry, supposed to be Bescot but can't, Crewe, Wilmslow, Manchester, Bolton, Preston..

Oh it would just have to be a few days before my railtour would have like getting the sleeper back with it being a 90 + 67 + 60 but oh well, 90 + 67 will have to do

Sleeper went booked route all the way to Preston via Manchester Picc and Bolton, no report between PRYBRNJ and PBLJWM - on time at the former, 4 late at the latter so could have been restricted through the area.

They are not reporting points, apparently one of the bags failed at Preston so is running late. Went exactly as it supposed to.

PRYBRNJ is Perry Barr North Jn and PBLJWM is Portobello Junction and to pass both of them you have to go via Bescot, even going via Smethwick you can't hit Portobello
