Drivers permitting, I would expect 92023 to work the 1C11/1B26 Lowlander Edinburgh portion tonight and 86101 to return on 1M11. Otherwise, it would need to be the other way round with one of the 86s doing the Edinburgh circuit (or possibly the Colas 47 that's at Polmadie, assuming it's in good health).

Guess we'll find out later...

Agreed the ones they've done up look very smart (although I'm not a fan of green generally...). The two (016 and 046) in the 'old' Freightliner (none-Powerhaul livery) aren't too bad either from a distance either.

It's the state of the grey ones, though - just because they've not had new liveries isn't really an excuse for keeping the original liveries looking vaguely presentable. Compare to 92044 - which is by no means ex-works, but hasn't had bits pulled off it and randomly coloured doors added in quite the same way (or a large "GBRf" sticker slapped on the side) https://flic.kr/p/VwmxwV [not mine]

I believe this is the reason - there was a lot of (delayed) traffic heading into Euston during the period of this delay - think it was just waiting for a slot. Also being held back would've helped them to deal with the disruption as once it's in Euston it occupies a platform for a couple of hours; so keeping that platform available for the best part of another hour would've improved options/capacity a bit.

Current reports (if correct) are that 86101 is indeed on 1M11 and there's been another switcheroo on 1M16, with 92023 on it (having taken the Edinburgh portion ECS out from Polmadie); and 92010 apparently back on the 1C11/1B26 (Edinburgh portion) circuit. Neither loco will have departed yet, though, so TBC on this one...

1S25 got a late start due to the disruption and then the set never arrived in Euston until 20:54. The train is full so it took a while to to board everyone as well

I heard it was a tree on the OHLE near Nuneaton which then caught fire. Although that could be the elaborated Chinese Whispers version of a plastic bag...!

Oh how ironic. You wait for 92023 for ages then get it twice in two days, despite deliberately booking lowland one way and highland the other to ensure it is caught whichever it works.

86101 was indeed 1M11. 47 early (WTT) at Euston, some of which was due to not running via Northampton.

Also nice to see 86401 at the other end at Glasgow, having brought in 5M11 from Polmadie.

I did, 23 down and 10 on the up. Would have preferred the 86 but that would mean missing the 67. Not too disappointed overall.

The Inverness sleeper in more interesting times! 2 37s and motorail wagons. I - as a teenager - often watched this at Inverness station, being shunted and departing.

Although I clearly remember the period when 2x37s was the norm (must have been for a few years?), photographic/video evidence of this online seems quite scarce.

Appears there were some challenges north of Edinburgh on the Up Highlander last night - the Inverness lost 47 mins between Winchburgh Jnc and Newbridge Jnc and the Fort William lost time from Crianlarich onwards ultimately arriving 57 Late at Waverley.

The combined train left Edinburgh 71 Late although 92018 pulled all but 3 minutes of that back by Euston (including making up 30 minutes alone down Beattock bank ).

Looks like 1B01 was delayed approaching Crianlarich due to 1Y48 developing an engine defect with a LOP after departing Crianlarich ahead of it. 1B01 then had problems with 73970 itself losing further time.

1M16 was held at Newbridge to run behind 1B01 presumably to keep the correct running order and the same formation.
