There should be some more runs during daytime next week Monday Thursday to Machynlleth.
Am I right, or am I missing something in the other sense? Many thanks for this! Return of the daytime tests ey? I can't find them on Realtime Trains - I'm guessing the schedules haven't gone out yet and you know because of your role?
You've ridden on 61 of the 70 that have been in service? "Only" 54 for me197033 & 197037 on Chester / Liverpool services. - My first ride on 197037; just 9 left to get.
No chance of that. The last ones aren't expected for several months. Only reason so many newer ones are even out is that they are filling in because so many of the regular fleet are out of service.70/77 in service then
All in service by Christmas? Roughly one new unit a week.
No you are correct, I just didn't see your other post before I hit reply!Am I right, or am I missing something in the other sense?

If I read that right, this means that 46 class 197s were out earning revenue for TfW yesterday (Monday 27th October 2025) - can't remember if anyone has posted the number of units that have booked work on a weekday to see whether 46 units is more or less than that.Class 197's not in passenger service today are: List of 30 units

Its decreased down to 47 Monday to Friday currently. It was posted upthread a while ago.
51 units rings a bell but may have increased since.
More new trains suffering with cracking? At this point they might as well start making them out of legoSome interesting nuggets regarding the 197s in the Green Signals interview with James Price, CEO of TfW:
- A few of the 197s are suffering with cracks around what James describes as the anti roll bars, which he likens to what happened with the IETs. The good news is that it is not currently affecting service delivery and a fix has been agreed.
- TfW and CAF have moved from an adversarial relationship to more of a partnership. TfW is now satisfied with the service being received from CAF.
- There are lessons to be learned about reading and understanding what is actually in the contracts with rolling stock manufacturers, rather than relying on the interpretation of consultants or engineers.
Sorry if this has already been posted, this thread moves fast!
At least lego would be easy to repair with its "modular design" and "pre-trained" staffMore new trains suffering with cracking? At this point they might as well start making them out of lego
And as for the 3rd point, I am by no means a businessman or business owner, but I would guess that the reading and understanding of contracts before signing them off is pretty basic stuff.

An mk4 set has been sat in Stockport since Friday Morning. Will this be out for a while because lots of services yesterday were short formed and extremely busy even for a Saturday. I couldn’t get on my train as people were stood down the middle and sat on the floor at doors and that was with 4 cars.
I think it moved very slowly from Platform 1 to Platform 0. It was still in Stockport around 11am today.
Very slow is being generous. You could probably walk it quicker! https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:25084/2025-11-03/detailedPlan is for it to be moved tonight after services finish on a very slow run to Crewe and then over to Crewe ETD
I've been informed of the following two schedules:There should be some more runs during daytime next week Monday Thursday to Machynlleth.
What speed is it likely to go? Why so slowly?Very slow is being generous. You could probably walk it quicker! https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:25084/2025-11-03/detailed
If it's a flat wheel problem, it will need to run really slowlyWhat speed is it likely to go? Why so slowly?
Normally 20mph max, 5mph over points and there's quite a few of those on this move. It's on a wheel skateWhat speed is it likely to go? Why so slowly?
Does seem only The moves onto and off the system are so far inputted with the rest to follow.I take it that whatever's happening in-between those hasn't yet gone onto the system?
There's large amounts of 197s stopped too at the moment, 14 was the total last night. Cambrian sets just about keep the show on the road but short forms are really mounting. An mk4 set has been sat in Stockport since Friday Morning.
