A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
I have just had a telephone from one of my sons to say both him and one of his immediate neighbours who both subscribe to BT e-mail have very poor availability of service and have been informed that many subscribers are affected and that the BT engineering teams still have 72 hours work to ensure service restoration.

Have any of the website members been similarly affected over the last 36 hours?

Poor availability of internet access, or poor availability of just email?

I've had poor internet connection over recent days, not specific to emails.

Just for my information, what does this "outage" mean?

I think it has it's origins in the phrase "power outage", a North American phrase describing an occasion on which the electric power supply was "out". The term is used by some techies to describe the temporary unavailability of computer and network services as well these days. In this case it would be the email server being unavailable to the outside world.
