Brittle plastic

I managed to break the chassis of my Lima Western (ironically while gluing it back together) so I'm guessing it's not long for this world. Can anyone recommend a decent plastic weld which might work better? I'm reticent to use Pipe welding as that might melt too much plastic and in any case it could break apart elsewhere.

EDIT: it's ok I got it back together. Turns out poly cement is better than superglue on this type of plastic.

I was going to say poly cement. If you need to fill any cracks, then filling with some modelling putty and then a respray/paint with matching paints should sort (judicious weathering to hide slight colour mismatches perhaps!)
